Tailored Yarn Memories is currently in the process of becoming a new charity in the bereavement and grief sector. Bring your understanding of fundraising strategy to their board and help to raise awareness, plan events and strengthen partnerships.
What will you be doing?
Our board is currently facing the challenge of seeking charity status while expanding our fundraising efforts to support the growing need for bereavement support. For nearly five years we have delivered successful projects across Merseyside and now need to generate more unrestricted income to ensure we can continue supporting grieving families. Within our team there is always room for your innovative ideas and planning!
Role of the Fundraising Trustee: As a fundraising trustee, we are seeking an individual who can play a pivotal role in addressing our challenges and achieving our goals. Your responsibilities may include:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Assist the team in leading awareness campaigns and fundraising events.
- Developing strategic partnerships with individuals, businesses, and other organisations to deliver a corporate social responsibility program.
- Checking over grant bids prepared by the CEO.
- Collaborating with the board to align fundraising efforts with the organisation’s mission and values.
The role of the fundraising trustee is pivotal to the success of Tailored Yarn Memories. The trustee will have a significant influence on shaping the organization’s financial stability and future. The trustee will work closely with the board to set fundraising priorities and monitor progress towards our goals. Do you have experience of fundraising, events planning, storytelling, creative content or marketing? Are you caring, creative and enthusiastic? If so we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualities and attributes:
Dependability: An enthusiastic commitment to our mission and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of those who have been bereaved.
Previous Community Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in successful fundraising, including grant writing, donor relations, and event planning.
Community Engagement: Well-connected with a network of potential donors, partners, and supporters.
Innovation: The ability to develop and execute new strategic fundraising plans.
Collaboration and Teamwork: The ability to lead and inspire volunteers, team members, and board colleagues to actively participate in fundraising efforts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to achieve this.
Organisation Skills: Able to work with independently with minimum supervision and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge: A solid understanding of fundraising strategies, techniques and platforms.
Adaptability: able to adapt to changing circumstances and evolving fundraising trends to remain effective.
Resilience and Perseverance: the capacity to overcome challenges, setbacks, and rejection, which is often encountered in fundraising.
Time Commitment: Availability to prepare for and attend board meetings (6 per year), fundraising events and occasionally other tasks as required.
The combination of these skills and attributes will empower the fundraising trustee to effectively drive the organization’s fundraising efforts, contribute to its mission, and make a significant impact in the grief and bereavement sector.
