Volunteers – Liverpool Arab Arts Festival 2023, closes 19 June

Would you like to learn new skills and meet new people? Are you interested in learning about how an international arts festival works, or want to engage with leading Arab artists?

They are looking for committed volunteers to play a key part in realising the UK’s premier annual festival of Arab arts and culture in Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool Arab Arts Festival runs Thursday 6 – Sunday 16 July 2023.

They are especially looking for support to deliver key events:

Music

Festival launch event with Aar Maanta and Nxdia (Friday 7 July, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Music Room)
Maya Youssef (Friday 14 July, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Music Room)

Performances

Arabs Are Not Funny (Saturday 8 July, Royal Court Studio)
Ahmed Masoud and Farah Chamma (Tuesday 11 July, Unity Theatre)
Self-Entitlement (Wednesday 12 July, Unity Theatre)
what the dog said to the harvest (Thursday 13 July, Unity Theatre)

Weekend events

Workshops at World Museum Liverpool (Saturday 8 July, World Museum Liverpool)
Taroo street performances (Saturday 8 July, Liverpool City Centre)
Events at Bluecoat (Saturday 15 July, Bluecoat)
British-Yemeni Society AGM (Saturday 15 July, Liverpool City Centre)
Mona Kareem I Will Not Fold These Maps events (Saturday 15 July, LUSH)

Family Day

Family Day (Sunday 16 July at Sefton Park Palm House – all day)

Volunteers will need to be available during the festival period and ideally commit to 2 shifts. Working with their small but dedicated team will provide volunteers with practical experience of event logistics, audience engagement and artist liaison.

Travel expenses will be covered, along with expenses towards lunch, if applicable for the shift.

A full volunteer induction will be held in Liverpool before the festival.

Interested in getting involved? Please complete this online form before Monday 19 June: www.arabartsfestival.com/laaf-2023-call-for-festival-volunteers/
