Artist Callout: The Escape2Make Fair 2025 – Escape2Make, closes 26 Jul ’24

The E2M Fair will celebrate Escape2Make’s brand new space, a destination where young people can escape the stresses of being a teenager and engage in creative activities. They recently received over £220,000 of funding to secure this space for the next three years, and this will be their launch event!

They need artists to run creative workshops for 11-18-year-olds, fitting the following brief:

  • Fun & Educational: Workshops should focus on creative activities that young people wouldn’t ordinarily have the chance to learn at school.
  • Showcase at the E2M Fair: The outcome should be something that can be showcased at the fair (e.g., a performance, a stall with items for sale, an interactive activity for the public).
  • Legacy in the Space: There should be a lasting element from the project (e.g., artwork to hang, plant pots to use, furniture made from recycled materials).

What They Need from You

  • Workshop Description: A brief explanation of the workshop(s) you would like to run (no more than 250 words). Include pictures/videos if available.
  • Introduction: A 100-word introduction about yourself and your experience. You may include a photo.

You can propose a 5-session program where the same group develops skills over 5 sessions, OR a one-off workshop to take place once during the workshop period. Please specify which format you prefer.

Submission Process

  • All ideas meeting the brief will be presented to their Youth Board, who will decide which to proceed with.
  • If selected, you will be paid a day rate of £300 per day (£150 per half-day) for planning and delivering the project, provided with support from assistants/volunteers, and given a materials budget (up to £100 for one-off workshops, up to £300 for 5-session programs).

Submissions closing date

Friday, 26th July

Please submit your ideas to info@escape2make.org

If you have any questions or wish to discuss your submission, feel free to reach out!

The choirs are looking for an exceptional, inspirational and dynamic Choir Director/Choir Leader to join the team! You will be responsible for leading and conducting choir rehearsals and end of term concerts for our three adults-only no-audition modern pop choirs in Altrincham, Sale and Chorlton, each with about 60 members.

About the choirs:

They sing innovative pop choir arrangements of songs and mash-ups ranging the decades (think George Michael to Bilie Eilish), focussing on improving group musicality through improvisation, rhythmic sense and groove. They aim to create a non-judgement space where people can explore their creativity with positivity and curiousity. The aim is to try new things without being scared of failing! Rehearsals are great fun and there is always a lot of laughter in the room.

You will work on a freelance, self employed basis and be paid monthly. Application deadline is 15th of August 2024, and they will be conducting online interviews on 27th & 28th of August. If successful you will start in September 2024.

Freelance Graphic Designer – Walker Art Gallery, closes 14 Jul ’24

Walker Art Gallery are looking for a freelance graphic designer to help us produce an exhibition catalogue for CONVERSATIONS, an ambitious new exhibition which will bring together work by nearly 50 black woman and non-binary artists who are transforming contemporary British art today.

The exhibition will open in Liverpool on 19 October 2024 and run until 9 March 2025 and aims to ask poignant questions about the present and to provide a moment of celebration and joy centred around artists working in the UK.

A key aspect of this project is the legacy that it will leave behind, going on to influence future exhibitions and the collecting policy at the Walker Art Gallery. Part of this legacy is an accompanying exhibition publication which will be available for visitors to buy at the gallery and online, both during the exhibition run and after it closes.

They are looking for a graphic designer to work on the design of the publication, which should complement the exhibition design in the gallery managed by our in-house creative studio. They have a total budget of £3500 for a graphic designer.
