Collections Assistant (Social History) – Gallery Oldham, closes 21 Aug

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved a major improvement in access to and storage of Gallery Oldham’s collections.

In the first stage of this project in Spring 2024 we will be moving our social and natural history collections to new storage facilities. We are currently working on the ongoing cataloguing and packing of the social history collection to complete this project. We are looking for a freelancer who can support our Social History Curator to carry out much of the day-to-day work on these collections.

This opportunity is a freelance position working 3 days per week at a rate of £110 per day. The initial appointment would be for 6 months.

Project Producer: Theatre – Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 12 Aug

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Producer to join Shakespeare North’s ambitious Culture and Learning team. Reporting to the Senior Producer, this role will curate and deliver a programme of works for the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio.

The Producer will develop and nurture relationships with artists, particularly those based in the Northwest. Optimising the Artistic Strategy within the Business Plan, and working with teams across Shakespeare North, this role is central in delivering a thriving artistic programme that includes a range of visiting companies, one off events and development opportunities. This role is ideal for an individual who has a passion for the arts and a finger on the pulse of the creative sector in the Northwest and surrounding areas.

Working across a range of cultural events and theatre projects at Shakespeare North Playhouse the Project Producer will deliver an innovative programme that celebrates a range of voices, for our audiences in Knowsley and beyond.

The Project Producer will work closely with Shakespeare North Playhouse Learning and Engagement, Technical, Audience and Catering & Events teams to deliver the programme across all three spaces (the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio).

This creative and administrative role is suitable for a producer with a background of programming, producing small to mid-scale theatre shows, one off events, negotiating and issuing contracts, and working in venues.

This is a permanent, full time contract equivalent to 40hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work weekends and evenings.

This is an exciting opportunity for a positive and practically minded individual with an aptitude for maintaining high standards to join their Events team at Calderstones.

The Reader’s Calderstones site is a large multi-purpose community setting for our Shared Reading mission, with a focus on social enterprise activity to support the charities wider work across the UK. As an assistant event manager, you will also have the responsibility of overseeing the successful delivery of a number of our internal programmed events and private hire events here at Calderstones Mansion House. This role will cover 7 days and most of your hours will be delivering the events, mostly evenings and weekends.

Person Specification

Essential

– Demonstrate excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their workload and remain calm under pressure.

– Leading and supervising our event assistant team

– Experience of Key Holder responsibilities, demonstrating an ability to confidently open and close a large site and maintain alarm systems.

– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues within the Events department and across all departments at The Reader’s Headquarters and build relationships at all levels.

– Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative to resolve problems with minimal supervision

– Able to demonstrate an understanding of the wider work of The Reader, and its social values and that these values are represented at the site.

– Experience liaising with both private and corporate client bases, managing expectations to the highest level whilst respecting and adhering to the limitations of working in a public setting.

– Demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail in the daily planning and delivery of events

– Confidence in liaising with external public emergency services and ability to respond to incidents.

– Proficient with IT systems, including use of Office 365 programs

– Need to be fully flexibly over a 7-day week, on a rota basis which will include unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays.

The Beatles Story is established as an immersive must-see visitor experience, that supports the wider Liverpool City region visitor economy, protecting and enhancing the Beatles’ brand and sustaining its legacy in the birthplace of The Beatles for future generations.

This role will be based at the Pier Head site, located at the Mersey Ferry Terminal buildings. The Team Leaders role is to manage the Fab 4 Caf and Fab 4 shop. As part of this role you will regularly act as Duty Manager, opening and closing the building to the public acting as first aider and incident manager as and when needed in partnership and with the support of the Mersey Ferries team.

As a Team Leader experience of customer service is essential – you must be willing to embrace new ideas and go beyond customer expectations, inspiring unforgettable and unique moments that guests will treasure.
