Due to expanding business the BwD Venues team are looking to recruit a Hospitality and Events Assistant to work across both King George’s Hall and Darwen Library Theatre.

The role will support the Hospitality and Events Coordinator in the planning and delivery of high quality bar services, event set up and catering provision ensuring all areas comply with health and safety, legal, hygiene and licencing requirements as well as ensuring a secure, safe and welcoming environment for the audience and guests to enjoy.

The role requires stamina, enthusiasm, attention to detail and the ability to think on your feet as well as superb communication skills. There is a requirement for flexibility of evenings, weekends and late shifts to deliver the busy event programme. It is hard work but it is also very rewarding.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Theatre (Stage) Manager based at King Georges Hall but also covering other Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council venues including Darwen Library Theatre.

Applications are invited from professionals with relevant industry experience, operational planning, service delivery and customer management.

Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership and strive towards commercial success maximising profitability and efficient cost control.

A knowledge of working with touring companies, sound and light to a high specification, stage rigging, and excellent Health and Safety knowledge are required.

Management of staff will be a pre-requisite of this post for both internal employees and freelance professionals. You will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, be forward thinking, adaptable, have the ability to produce reports, conduct risk assessment and deliver training.

The role includes working weekends and evenings is based on 37 hours over 7 days and will work to our annualised hour’s system.

The team are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Development Director to shape and pioneer the work of the Olympias Music Foundation (OMF) at this exciting point in the charity’s growth.

The role is flexible, and we are willing to discuss either full-time or part-time working from Manchester or remotely from other parts of the UK. They are a small but mission-driven team, and the successful candidate will work on the frontline of the OMF to bring music to communities and to manifest positive lasting change in the music sector in Manchester.

About the role

This is a new & pivotal role that will be instrumental in shaping the future of the OMF, working alongside and reporting to the Chief Executive. They will be responsible for leading high level income generation from a range of sources in a strategic approach. The role will also support financial planning, demonstrating social impact and communications across OMF.

The role requires somebody with an entrepreneurial mindset with organisational development capabilities who is excellent at building partnerships and generating funding in the third sector. Musical experience isn’t necessary – however, they are looking for someone who aligns with their values and can demonstrate that our mission resonates with them.

• Minimum of 3 years’ fundraising experience, with demonstrable success in securing higher level funding
• Experience in the third and/or cultural sector with several years in a management position
• Demonstrable understanding of funding streams in the cultural & charity sector

• Financial, governance and management experience in a senior role

Unity are recruiting for new Event Team members.

The Unity Event Team are crucial in ensuring the day to day running of the venue. They are responsible for the smooth running of all events and activity at Unity, ensuring the highest standard of customer care is provided to our visitors. The Events Team works across box office, café/bar and front of house.

The Event Team act as the public face of Unity and provide general assistance and help to all customers, ensuring a consistently high level of care and courtesy at all times. The role includes welcoming and guiding audiences / artists in the Front of House space, processing ticket sales at Box Office, till operation and customer serving at the Unity Bar and act as usher in attendance at theatre productions.

They’re looking for applicants who have experience in customer service roles, a passion for live performance and the work of Unity and are both confident and motivating when working as part of a team.

Applicants do not need experience in all three areas of the role – customer services, bar operations and/or using a ticketing system to support Box Office sales –as training will be provided and show night rules allocated accordingly, but experience in one or more areas is preferrable.

The Gallery Maintenance department provides technical services across the Science & Industry Museum in Manchester by maintaining exhibits, providing AV services for events and supporting the build of new galleries and exhibitions.

We are now recruiting for a Digital Technician (Events) to join the team on a full-time, fixed term contract until March 2024.

As a Digital Technician (Events) you will be directly providing high-quality AV support to the museums calendar of corporate events and programmed museum activity. This includes setting up of Audio Visual and Live Streaming equipment for programmed and commercial events, as required, throughout the Science Museum Group.

You will provide technical advice and support to both internal and external clients demonstrating a high standard of customer service during all interactions.
