Salary: £13,333 per annum (£22,222 pro-rata) (0.6 FTE)

Hours and Days of Work: 21 hours per week, scheduled on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. These days are fixed working days, involving weekend work as standard and occasional evening work. Additional hours may be available upon occasion.
This role will be based at FACT in Liverpool city centre. Remote working is not possible for this role.

In a world that feels increasingly divided, and with increased pressures on our mental health, Shared Reading offers us time and space to share what matters to us.

Their buildings are public facing and need to be well maintained all year round, you will be part of the team that ensures group members, staff and volunteers, and members of the public have a comfortable, clean and safe environment in which to work and visit. You will have held a similar role in the commercial or social enterprise sector and will be able to demonstrate how previous experience translates to this role. You will be responsible for ensuring that the communal and public areas of the site are hygienic, attractive and safe. These areas include toilets, event rooms, play spaces, offices, meeting rooms and a variety of other spaces that make up a collection of grade II listed buildings now in modern use.

The sense of place within the site is key; from the moment people walk through their door, they must feel welcome, relaxed and connected to the ethos and values of The Reader.

Knowledge and skills:

Ensuring that a first-class cleaning service is delivered to all areas of each building on site
Report any equipment faults to the Cleaning Supervisor and request replacements where necessary
Working with the Cleaning Supervisor to ensure all H&S regulations are followed and use approved cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and COSHH Regulations
Maintaining cleaning stock levels and inform the supervisor of low stock levels
To be a key holder and ensure the integrity of our premises (training provided)
To operate cleaning machinery safely as set out in training and instructions
To undertake basic record keeping and monitoring as directed by supervisor and Operations Manager

Communication and Public Policy Officer: Planning and Executive Support – Arts Council (North West), closes 15 Aug ’25

The Arts Council’s busy and friendly Advocacy and Communication and public policy teams are looking for an excellent planner to join them.

They try and live their values – they care, they have ambition, they learn. They’re looking for someone with excellent planning and organising skills to support the Executive Director and help team directors to co-ordinate delivery of the communication plan.  You will also maintain processes to help the Executive Director monitor their public policy work.

You will provide support in two ways:

·       Provide planning support for the ED, including closely working with the two Directors of the Advocacy and Communication team, director of diversity and other colleagues as required.

·       Provide Executive Support to the Executive Director for Public Policy and Communication, ensuring cover and working alongside a part-time PA.

The time spent on these contributions might change week to week, but you will usually spend three days a week providing planning support, and two days a week providing executive support for the Executive Director.
