These posts will involve planning, teaching and assessing on specific modules across all levels of study. They anticipate this being two 0.5 FTE roles (one for Production and one for Songwriting/Composition), but they may be split between candidates depending upon the relevant skills and time available when applications are assessed. Both roles will work under the supervision of the Director of the School of Music and the Head of Music (Creative & Technical).

The ideal candidate would be a music teacher with industry experience, and with experience of teaching at HE level in both theoretical and practical contexts. You will be an enthusiastic, highly skilled professional with excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing an excellent experience for our students.

Technician (Filmmaking & Creative Technologies) – Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, closes 11 Aug ’25

The postholder will be responsible for coordinating the administration and operational oversight for film production both on and off campus and will assist the Technical Services Manager in supporting curriculum delivery across the Institute.

They will also be responsible for the supervision, maintenance and booking of Filmmaking & Creative Technologies equipment, Acting (Screen & Digital) equipment and Technical Services streaming equipment and setup along with providing a customer facing role for bookings and events.

The duties for this post include:

  • To ensure adequate arrangements exist for the storage, distribution and maintenance of Filmmaking & Creative Technologies and Acting (Screen & Digital) equipment.
  • To provide first-line technical support ensure the smooth processing of equipment booking requests generated from Smarthub, the Institute’s booking system.
  • To maintain a safe and secure environment with respect to Filmmaking & Creative Technologies equipment, Acting (Screen & Digital) and live streaming.
  • To support students and staff in achieving their learning goals and enhance departmental communication.
  • To provide support for major LIPA events (open days / guest speakers etc.).

Production Coordinator – Tung Auditorium, closes 11 Aug ’25

The Tung Auditorium team are seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to facilitate the delivery of a high-quality programme of concerts and events.

The role holder will be responsible for overseeing logistical stage and backstage information for the programme of concerts and events.

The Production Coordinator will oversee the flow of information for all events including artist schedules, riders, technical information, stage plans, travel, accommodation and catering, from production advance through to delivery and post event follow up. Using the venue management system (Artifax) they will ensure that information is collated and presented appropriately for every event.

This role is full-time equivalent (35 hours per week) and will be primarily carried out during office hours, however there may be the need for some time during evenings and weekends.

NML currently have the post of NMDC Executive Assistant available.

The National Museum Directors’ Council (NMDC) represents the leaders of the UK’s national collections and major regional museums. We act as an advocate on behalf of our members and their collective priorities and work to shape museum and cultural policy agendas, as well as providing our membership with a forum for discussion and an opportunity to share information and work collaboratively.

As NMDC Executive Assistant you will provide efficient and effective executive and administrative support to the NMDC staff team and Chair and ensure the smooth running of the NMDC office. Reporting to the Policy and Projects Manager, you will support delivery of NMDC meetings and events, external communications, projects and members’ services. You will be in regular contact with colleagues across NMDC member institutions and related organisations and will build up an extensive knowledge of current UK museum and cultural sector issues.

You will have experience of organising meetings and the ability to manage electronic diaries, websites, contact databases and financial administration systems. You will have excellent IT and communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

NMDC moves with the organisation’s Chair, so this role may move to be hosted by another museum in 2029, although hybrid working arrangements can continue.

Deputy Wardrobe Manager – Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, closes 23 Jul ’25

LIPA are seeking a Deputy Wardrobe Manager to support the work of students in the provision of costumes and related items for LIPA productions.

In this role, you will manage staff and resources, under the direction of the Wardrobe Manager, working closely with costume designers, student designer and teaching staff to ensure that designs are realistic and can be made or otherwise acquired within the available production timeline. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the Wardrobe Department areas and undertake the financial and record keeping duties related to the activities of the department.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Theatre Costume or equivalent, and at least three years’ professional experience as a costume supervisor in a production wardrobe department is essential. You will be proficient in wardrobe department operations, stock management, budgeting and consumables tracking. Experience collaborating with students, designers, performers and technicians is essential, teaching or instruction experience in a Higher Education or Further Education environment is desirable.
