The Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement is one of The University of Manchester’s Cultural institutions. They’re looking for a skilled events professional to step into the role of Events Production Manager as Maternity Cover, delivering a high-quality public events programme that attracts a wide range of people to Jodrell Bank provoking wonder, curiosity, fun, engagement and learning across science, heritage, culture, and the arts.

Commercial Manager – People’s History Museum, closes 31 Jul ’24

PHM generates income through many channels including retail, venue hire, catering contracts and commissions. Since the impact of COVID-19, we have worked hard to rebuild these commercial income streams as a key source of self-generated income for the museum.

Within the current climate, self-generated income is more important than ever, and they are now embarking on a new project to grow their commercial work further. This two-year project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and will focus on the future resilience of the museum. They aim to evolve their approach to grow and develop existing commercial income streams and explore what our future model should look like.

This is a dynamic role which will lead on refining our commercial strategy. The immediate focus will be to deliver their commercial plan, working with our skilled team to develop, market and grow existing income streams. This role will have responsibility towards meeting ambitious targets and reporting to their Trading Company Board. Over time, the role will shift to have an eye on the future, testing new ideas to increase the level of self-generated income.

They are seeking a strong project manager with commercial experience and excellent relationship management skills. Experience within the events and hospitality sector is essential. This will be a fast-paced role, where no two days are the same.

Reporting to the Visitor Experience and Ticketing Manager, the Duty Manager will assist in the successful delivery of their visitor attraction & events programme. As Duty Manager you will be responsible for the smooth operation of all activities relating to Front-of-House areas and be responsible for the Health and Safety of members of the public and staff.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Within the Duty Management function, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations within the venue, to include but not limited to:
    • Pre-opening checks
    • Technical support and understanding of trouble shooting.
    • Daily briefings
    • Supervision of the front of house crew, including caf and retail areas and booking agent, ensuring delivery of excellent guest service levels at all times
    • Daily attention to the Gibson Interactive Studio ensuring working visitor stations

Choir Director – Indigo Vibe, opens 12 Jul ’24

Indigo Vibe is a small, very friendly choir, which meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm in Central Liverpool. We mainly sing a cappella and our current repertoire includes songs from a wide range of genres from the 1950’s to the present day.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, creative choir director who can lead us in rehearsal and performance. They aim to have fun in rehearsals but are also very much up for a musical challenge. They pay £80 per session.

Arts Emergency has been supporting young people through its mentoring programme since 2011. As the Merseyside Mentoring Officer, you will work to recruit, match and support mentoring pairs across Merseyside.
