You’ll be responsible for providing technical advice and services, including designing and operating lighting, sound, audio visual and recording systems. You’ll liaise with clients to identify production specifications, and ensure that events comply with Health and Safety regulations, and meet customer expectations. Job Responsibilities

  • To liaise with other Liverpool Philharmonic employees, in particular the Event Managers, Operations team and Performance and Learning department.
  • To ensure that accurate, appropriate and the highest standard of technical advice, services and support is provided to clients and/or customers in managing and staging events or room bookings.
  • To ensure compliance with Health & Safety, licensing and always building control regulations by following relevant standard operating procedures and maintaining records of work undertaken, activities, and other data as instructed.
  • To liaise with clients/customers to identify requirements (e.g. layout of area, necessary equipment etc.) while providing outstanding customer care and ensure that expectations are met.
  • To design and operate lighting, sound, audio visual, and recording systems for events as required.

Duty Manager – Full Time – The British Music Experience, closes 7 Aug ’24

Reporting to the Visitor Experience and Ticketing Manager, the Duty Manager will assist in the successful delivery of their visitor attraction & events programme. As Duty Manager you will be responsible for the smooth operation of all activities relating to Front-of-House areas and be responsible for the Health and Safety of members of the public and staff.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Within the Duty Management function, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations within the venue, to include but not limited to:
    • Pre-opening checks
    • Technical support and understanding of trouble shooting.
    • Daily briefings
    • Supervision of the front of house crew, including caf and retail areas and booking agent, ensuring delivery of excellent guest service levels at all times
    • Daily attention to the Gibson Interactive Studio ensuring working visitor stations
    • Covering crew lunch breaks, if necessary, to ensure guest service levels remain consistent throughout the day
    • General guest interaction
    • Complaint handling
    • Incident management
    • Health & Safety including evacuation strategy, fire call-point and emergency lighting testing
    • Daily debrief

    • Stock management, including ordering of retail and caf stock and supplies

  • To assist the Visitor Experience and Ticketing Manager as required in the day-to-day scheduling of the VE Team, including monthly rotas and daily rotations.

Choir Director – Indigo Vibe, opens 12 Jul ’24

Indigo Vibe is a small, very friendly choir, which meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm in Central Liverpool. We mainly sing a cappella and our current repertoire includes songs from a wide range of genres from the 1950’s to the present day.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, creative choir director who can lead us in rehearsal and performance. They aim to have fun in rehearsals but are also very much up for a musical challenge. They pay £80 per session.

The successful candidate will need some previous experience of directing a choir and will have the ability to play keyboard or another suitable instrument to a reasonable standard during rehearsals. For more information please contact them at indigovibe@ymail.com.

Arts Emergency, a mentoring organisation and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for a resourceful, organised and motivated Community Events Officer to join the team.

Arts Emergency has been supporting young people through its mentoring programme since 2011. Digital Designer – Community Arts by ZK, closes 22 Jul ’24

‘Healing Arts for All’ (HAFA), require a Digital Designer as a key member of their team.

This is an incredibly exciting and rare artistic opportunity to work on a creative heritage project of national importance. HAFA seeks to explore and engage the multicultural community of Pendle in the heritage of their post-industrial local area.

Within the project there will be a particular focus on Brierfield Mill, a renovated Grade 2 listed former cotton mill. They will be exploring both what life was like in Lancashire’s industrial era, and how this shaped Pendle and its residents today to create an archive made up of historical content and innovative artworks.

The Digital Designer will be responsible for managing communications in relation to the project (posters, social media, project branding etc), design branding/icons for the online archive of the project (however the website will be designed by a freelance Web Designer) and manage the digitisation of the material for the archive. The Digital Designer will be responsible for overseeing the archive, and training volunteers how to upload and catalogue material on the website. The Digital Designer will support Creative Practitioners with all digital design for each phase (video editing, app design, digital collaging, how to design for book-making etc).

This archive will contain photographs, historical records, oral records, artworks such as textiles, mixed media collages etc that have been collected throughout the project. This archive is one of the primary products of this 3-year project: it will fill a gap in current archive information, as there is little known about the lives of the South Asian community and their work during the industrial period in Lancashire.
