#NoExcuseForAbuse March with Savera UK

March with Savera UK and Zonta International to raise awareness of ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices, hear from survivors, enjoy drumming, dance and other performances, and learn about how you can join our mission. The march follow’s 2022’s successful inaugural event, which saw hundreds of people engaged by the march, which was led by Movema’s Sankofa Bird. The bird is one of four birds from organisation’s ‘Taking Flight’ production, which have been inspired by their artists’ experiences of migration and informed by the refugee and asylum seeker communities with who they work. This year the Sankofa Bird will be joined by Movema’s Liver Bird, representing Savera UK’s home city and British and Irish culture.
