Transatlantic Swing: Twenty Years Of Dr Jazz And The Cheshire Cats

Twenty years ago a group of musicians from the North West came together to form a big band. Since then, Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats have given acclaimed performances across the country. Directed by the University of Liverpool’s own Professor Catherine Tackley, the band brings a programme of classic swing with a British twist to The Tung Auditorium. Expect to hear the swinging sounds of Ted Heath and Jack Hylton alongside numbers from Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
