Songwriter Paul Draper heads to St Helens Citadel for a special solo performance.

Ex-Mansun vocalist, Paul, will play a mixture of old and new music, including some classic Mansun songs.

Formed in 1978 by brothers Paddy and Martin McAloon, Prefab Sprout became one of the 80s most beloved bands with hits including The King of Rock n Roll, When Love Breaks Down and Cars and Girls.

Martin McAloon plays a special solo show at St Helens Citadel.

Edgar Jones and The Nuggeteers return with… I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night. A daytime into nighttime garden party celebrating the iconic Nuggets compilation.

After the success of last December’s live show adventuring through the first psychedelic era, we return for an expanded celebration of Lenny Kaye’s iconic compilation album. Taking place across indoor and outdoor stages, I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night sees Edgar Jones and The Nuggeteers play the iconic album in its entirety, with very special guests joining them for live performances, screenings + creative happenings.

A full line-up of psychotic reactions will be announced soon, celebrating the enduring impact of the greatest compilation of all time.

Goldie Lookin Chain, the self-professed lazy sods from Newport, make their return to the live arena in November 2024 for the 420 tour.

They’re celebrating 20 years with 20 shows of 20 songs performed up and down the country, all for 20 quid. The riotous posse stop by Birkenhead on Friday 22nd November 2024.

They are thrilled to be hosting METZ at Future Yard on Wednesday 27th November as they tour Europe in support of their brand new album ‘Up on Gravity Hill‘, released on 12th April.

Emerging from Ontario over a decade ago as punks teeming with the energy of early ‘90s DIY hardcore, the aggravated angularities of This Heat, and the noisy riffing of AmRep’s quintessential guitar manglers, there was never a moment where METZ sounded like they were paying tribute to the heroes of their youth.

The sonic trajectory of their albums captures the journey of a band shedding influences and digging deeper into their fundamental core—steady propulsive drums, chest-thumping bass lines, bloody-fingered riffs, and the howling angst of fading innocence.

Inspired by the tongue-in-cheek confessionalism of the Smiths, solo Morrissey, and the scrappy D.I.Y. aesthetic of the C-86 school, the Wave Pictures began in 1998 in the rurality of northern Leicestershire.

Heavily influenced by their parents’ classic rock record collections and John Peel’s indie-centric radio show, lead singer and guitarist David Tattersall, bassist Franic Rozycki, and drummer Hugh J. Noble have released almost 20 LPs across a 2+ decade career, amassing a cult following along the way, loyal to their particular brand of DIY indie rock n roll.

Sam Eastgate, AKA LA Priest joins Future Yard on Sunday 2nd June.

Over a career spanning breakout band Late of The Pier, cherished experimental pop duo Soft Hair and his solo piece de resistance LA Priest, Eastgate has built a reputation as a subversive, unpredictable musician, on a constant quest for innovation.

He joins Future Yard this summer, with his latest LP Fase Luna ready to grace the stage.

They’re delighted to be welcoming Andrew Cushin back to Future Yard, after a storming performance at last year’s Birkenhead Live event.

Andrew Cushin possesses a nuanced, multifaceted talent for songwriting. The words that he conjures are both immensely personal and reflective of modern social issues, but those serious themes are delivered through songs with huge, pints-in-the-air singalong appeal.

It’s a talent that’s winning a growing army of admirers, most notably Noel Gallagher, who produced and performed on Andrew’s previous single Where’s My Family Gone.

Wolfgang Flür comes to Birkenhead on Friday 17th May to present Musik Soldat in our live room.

Best known as the electro drummer of the German electronic band Kraftwerk between 1973 and 1986, Wolfgang Flür’s current stage performances show videos and rare images from his Kraftwerk past shot to his present projects added with selected electro tunes for dancing. MUSIK SOLDAT (music soldier) is the title of Flür’s program. Wolfgang sees himself as a music presenter with historical electric background.
