As a ten-year-old, Jill Andrews would slide Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation into her tape deck, jump up onto the bed, knot her t-shirt at the waist, and start jamming. Just a few years later, Andrews was on tour, singing, writing, and playing with one the nation’s fastest rising Americana groups.
From her years in alt-folk band The Everybodyfields, to her critically acclaimed solo career, to her latest collaboration, Hush Kids, which she co-founded with Nashville songwriter and producer, Peter Groenwald, Andrews has delivered irresistibly melodic, genre-bending music for nearly two decades.
Anchored by frank songwriting but continuously and unapologetically evolving, Andrews’ tape deck currently hosts a range of influences from Joni Mitchell to Diana Ross to Wilco to contemporaries, Brandi Carlile and Phoebe Bridgers. The result is bold, infectious, introspective music that has served as the backdrop to some of America’s most beloved television series including Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us, Nashville, and Wynnona Earp, to which she composed the theme.
The choir of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral is joined by the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra to present a programme of music by Beethoven and Mozart.
Mozart’s sublime Requiem will be preceded by his Overture to the Magic Flute and Beethoven’s 1st Symphony.
The combined forces will be directed by Maria Barbosa Aristizabal, and special guest conductor Tucker Biddlecombe from Nashville, Tennessee.

After thirty albums and five decades on the music scene, Aswad remains one of Britain’s best loved reggae bands.
Originally led by the trio of Brinsley “Dan” Forde (on vocals and rhythm guitar), Angus “Drummie Zeb” Gaye (on vocals and drums), and Tony “Gad” Robinson (on bass), Aswad is renowned among reggae fans for their rich melodies and compelling harmonies, woven over hard rhythm tracks and inspired horn riffs.
Aswad have the distinction of being the first Reggae Band in the UK to be signed to an International label ie. Island Records in the 1970’s
Their album ‘LIVE & DIRECT’ – is one of the NME’s critically acclaimed albums of the 20thcentury. They crossed over from being Reggae royalty to a member of the pop dynasty with their smash hit album ‘DISTANT THUNDER’ which spawned the number 1 International hit ‘Don’t Turn Around’ & ‘Give a Little Love’ but still keeping their political edge at the time with the chart hit ‘Set Them Free’ – which was part of the Free Nelson Mandela campaign. Aswad’s many hits include, Shine, On and ON, Smoky Blues, Best of my Love & many more.
Aswad are still very relevant in the 21st century as can be seen by the many festivals they appear on both in the UK and around the world. Sit back & look forward to a night of nice enjoyable pop reggae ONE LOVE.

Soul II Soul play Liverpool – Eventim Olympia show taking place on Friday 17th November 2023.
Formed in 1988 Soul II Soul and Jazzie B in their community in North London. Soul II Soul’s dances had been reflecting what was occurring naturally in London; kids of all races had grown up together and were now raving together. By the mid-1980s the warehouse scene was in full swing, vibrant and underground, removed from the constraints of the mainstream – a natural fit for Soul II Soul’s creativity.
Nothing summed them and their crowd up better than their regular Sunday night spot at the now legendary Africa Centre in London’s Covent Garden. The Africa Centre was a game changer for Soul II Soul; for British black music; and for the nation’s youth culture in general. It caught the attention of Virgin Records, who signed them as an act in 1988, catapulting them into a tornado of success.
There were the resident club nights all over the world; live concert tours; radio and TV appearances; Jazzie had his own show on London’s Kiss FM and there was even an Adventures of the Funki Dreds comic book. And, of course, Soul II Soul enjoyed the type of chart success – notably with ‘Keep On Movin’ and ‘Back To Life’ – that made them household names all over the world.
To date Soul II Soul have sold over 10 million albums in over 35 territories worldwide and have product on over 200 compilation CDs while Jazzie has accreditation on over 35 million albums in over 100 territories. They’ve performed in over 20 countries, and appeared at some of the most famous venues in the world including Wembley and New York’s Universal Ample Theatre. America embraced Soul II Soul to such a degree, in 1990 they picked up two Grammy’s. Jazzie was given the keys to seven cities in the US, including LA and New York, and the NAACP has honoured him.
