Harry Tonks has certainly found his sound, having released a handful of singles throughout this year produced in West Kirby by the acclaimed Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral). With influences ranging from Nick Drake to Jeff Buckley, Harry fills intimate settings with a full band, performing well-crafted songs about personal struggle.
With a debut album Over the Water due to be released later this year, Harry will be playing a headline show this October. He’s already performed a string of accomplished gigs, supporting Michael Head (Pale Fountains, Shack) and Butler, Blake and Grant (Teenage Fanclub, Suede), and a recent packed-out headline show at Leaf on Bold Street.
Harry’s work has received multiple BBC radio plays and he’ll be performing those tracks with a full band tonight, along with some new material too. If you’re a fan of honest and raw music, this isn’t one to miss.
An exhilarating journey through time and memory.
From the sweet sound of forest birdsong to the grinding gears of industry, the music in this show encapsulates a huge range of human experience. Inspired by Steve Reich’s childhood memories of railway journeys, Different Trains intricately weaves together a live score for strings with field recordings and fragments of spoken word.
Through mesmerising repetition and rhythmic patterns, Reich vividly evokes the contrasting destinies faced by train travellers–from passengers on leisurely trips to those caught in the horrors of the Holocaust. “It’s as much terror as it is music” says Pitchfork.
Popping up everywhere from state funerals to trance raves, Samuel Barber’s iconic Adagio has lost none of its emotive power since its first performance 85 years ago. A musical catalogue of bird calls by Cassandra Miller, and fresh new work from subversive British-Malaysian composer Jasmin Kent Rodgman, catches us up to the 21st century.
This voyage from nature to the man-made, past to present, may be turbulent at times. But it’s definitely worth it.
Jasmin Kent Rodgman’s new work is supported by PRS Foundation’s The Open Fund.

Celebrating over 40 years as a live performer, Eddi Reader has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers.
What sets Eddi apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance and ability to not only move the listener, but connect her experience to that of her audience. No two performances are ever the same.
Though first brought into the limelight as front woman for Fairground Attraction, who’s #1 single, Perfect and parent album, First of a Million Kisses, both topped the British charts, it was Eddi’s subsequent solo albums that signaled her ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them very much her own. Notably, The Songs of Robert Burns (2003) is a timeless interpretation showcasing the poems of Scotland’s national bard and gained her an MBE for outstanding contributions to the Arts.
From the traditional to the contemporary, Eddi Reader extinguishes the preordained boundaries of genre, bringing joyous life to all forms of song. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music.
With 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, 3 BRIT awards, a #1 single and an MBE in tow, Eddi continues to delight audiences worldwide. 2022 proved to be one of her busiest touring years yet, playing sell out shows as part of her ‘40 Years Live Tour’ in addition to appearing as special guest with the Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for an extensive UK tour.
