Eliza Carthy and The Restitution

2022 marks the 30th career anniversary of outstanding English folk musician Eliza Carthy MBE.

Eliza turned pro (or quit college, depending on if you ask her or her dear departed mam) in 1992, and since then has toured all over the world; danced with Hugh Masekela in Ghana; crossed the Prairies, the Alps, and the waters of Lake Titicaca, all for the sake of playing the fiddle and spreading the word of English traditional music.

To mark this significant milestone, she will be releasing a new album Queen Of The Whirl with her band The Restitution – featuring re-recordings of some of her ‘greatest hits’ and audience-favourites from past 30 years, including songs from her three Mercury Award nominated albums.

Queen Of The Whirl is her celebration of thirty years of silliness and profundity, with a crack team of musicians made up of her colleagues and counterparts. Thirty years of music reimagined, from Billy Bragg to Peggy Seeger, from The Ratcatchers to Imagined Village, from bloody boots in Trafalgar Square to the moors of North Yorkshire, and everywhere in between. It’s been quite a ride!

This concert will last approximately 2 hours.

On The Waterfront presents Camelphat

Following the overwhelming success of the first edition of ‘On the Waterfront’, plans have just been announced for its return in 2023, kicking off the summer season for another series of stunning shows and live performances, with the first phase headliners featuring some of Liverpool’s homegrown heroes.

Following on from their iconic sell out performance at last year’s inaugural event will see the return of the mighty Camelphat headlining on Saturday 1st July.  Since their first foray into the underground side of dance music almost a decade ago, the Grammy nominated Liverpool duo have had a meteoric rise that has seen them achieve global success while remaining true to their underground sound.   Their headline sell-out show at ‘On The Waterfront’ last year was their biggest and fastest selling show to date in the city.

We are absolutely buzzing to be invited back to headline at the Liverpool Waterfront once again. This is such a unique opportunity to finally return home & produce a show worthy of the location.  The memories created from last year’s event will be with us forever, its truly an experience like no other. Hopefully with the line-up we’re putting together this year can be even more spectacular!”  Camelphat

Echo & The Bunnymen

In September 2023, Echo & The Bunnymen will perform a series of orchestral concerts celebrating their seminal album Ocean Rain. Performing Ocean Rain in its entirety, they will be joined on stage by The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

These enchanting musical evenings will take place in Liverpool’s M&S Arena, London’s magnificent Royal Albert Hall, the stunning Usher Hall in Edinburgh and the glorious Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.

Ocean Rain was recorded in Paris with a 35-piece orchestra, produced by The Bunnymen and engineered by Henri Loustau – who spoke no English – with Adam Peters providing the string arrangement and playing both cello and piano; creating a dark ethereal aura throughout the album. The band used more acoustic instrumentation than ever before; drum brushes, autoharps and orchestration which all added to the album’s magical and other worldly beauty.

Songs such as Ocean Rain, My Kingdom, Nocturnal Me, Crystal Days along with the singles Seven Seas, Silver and the majestic masterpiece The Killing Moon, still continue to transcend musical generations to this very day.
