FACT – 20th Birthday Celebration...

Join FACT on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October 2023 to celebrate their 20th Birthday! Back in 2003, FACT was Liverpool’s first purpose-built arts centre for more than 60 years.

It was a landmark moment for the city and the UK, giving moving image and digital art a place to expand, experiment and be embraced by visitors from all over the world.

To celebrate, they have lots of free events and activities lined-up, open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Highlights include hearing from some of the most influential voices in art, a behind-the-scenes tour of the largest sculpture they’ve ever exhibited, watching a film from the inside of a limousine and dancing the night away at their official after party.

Grab your free tickets to the official after party at District in the Baltic Triangle (61 Jordan St, Liverpool L1 0BE) to dance the night away. They’ll have PLUSH and Social Hours providing the party soundtrack with cabaret performances from EAT ME + PREACH and a special headline DJ set from artist Jenkin van Zyl.

Whilst most of the events are drop-in, a few do have limited spaces so book your free tickets in advance.

Black History Month 23: Flash Fiction ...

Join dub poet Levi Tafari, who’ll announce the winners from the Flash Fiction competition featuring performances from finalists and winners.

Levi Tafari, internationally renowned dub poet and performer, will announce the winners of Flashback, Writing on The Wall and National Museum Liverpool’s flash fiction competition, on Saturday 28th October at The Museum of Liverpool! Join us to hear readings of some of the amazing entries creatively exploring the past, present, and future of Canning Dock and Liverpool’s Waterfront Transformation Project.

Event

Born in Liverpool to Jamaican parents, Levi Tafari is an artist and dynamic performer with his roots firmly based in the oral tradition, believing poetry should not simply stay on the page. His plays have been performed at Unity Theatre and the Playhouse in Liverpool, as well as the Blackheath Theatre in Stafford. He has also worked on educational projects running creative writing in schools, colleges, universities, youth centres, prisons, and libraries. He describes himself as an Urban Griot; the traditional consciousness raiser, storyteller, newscaster, and political agitator.

Murder Mystery – Killer Christma...

DBY Interactive present the ultimate murder mystery themed night. Join them Downstairs at the Everyman for a festive celebration like no other…

1958, Christmas in Hollywood California and the stars are out in force on the red carpet – putting on a musical extravaganza to raise money for the homeless who will be spending the festive season with nothing but the sidewalk for company.

The biggest draw is The legendary Capeoli – fresh from a sell out tour and box-office busting movie run – they have Hollywood – heck, the WORLD – in the palm of their hand.  Their charm and good grace is legendary, but it seems that there’s more to the Italian born rat-packer than meets the eye.  The evening may be about charity and good will to all men, but there’s a stink about the place that smells like… MURDER!

An evening of intrigue, live music and murder – grab onto your hats – it’s gonna be Killer or a party out there.

Theme: Rat Pack inspired, Hollywood 1950s, live singing, crime thriller.

Included in your ticket price is a welcome drink and pie and mash.

Choose from either Scouse and Red Cabbage Pie (GF) or Blind Scouse and Cabbage Pie (VG) (GF), both served with creamy mashed potato, tender stem broccoli and loads of gravy.
