March with Savera UK and Zonta International to raise awareness of ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices, hear from survivors, enjoy drumming, dance and other performances, and learn about how you can join our mission.
The march follow’s 2022’s successful inaugural event, which saw hundreds of people engaged by the march, which was led by Movema’s Sankofa Bird. The bird is one of four birds from organisation’s ‘Taking Flight’ production, which have been inspired by their artists’ experiences of migration and informed by the refugee and asylum seeker communities with who they work.
This year the Sankofa Bird will be joined by Movema’s Liver Bird, representing Savera UK’s home city and British and Irish culture. Further details of speakers and performers will be announced in coming weeks.
If you have any questions about joining and participating in the march, please contact Nikki Croft-Girvan on nikki@saverauk.co.uk

The BID is hosting a Soundbath evening for any businesses in the BID for a soothing All Saints Day experience.
Not sure what a Soundbath is? A Soundbath is a meditative experience where guests are invited to relax and enjoy the sounds around them. For this event, Level10 Choir will surround the participants with a wash of choral sound.
The Soundbath will take place at Liverpool Parish Church.
Guests are invited to sit or lie on the floor of the room. We’ll try to make that as comfortable as possible, but participants are encouraged to bring yoga mats and blankets.
Spaces are limited but we encourage businesses to send staff for a meditative and relaxing experience.
Arrival will be from 5:30pm with the experience taking place from 5:45pm – 6:45pm

The Light Before Christmas: The Manger, is an immersive experience that will take visitors on an incredible journey through the Nativity story, celebrating the true magic of Christmas.
After the huge success of last year’s event, Luxmuralis are returning to Liverpool Cathedral for Christmas 2023. This year, Peter Walker is returning with Light Before Christmas: The Manger, the second of The Light Before Christmas series.
The cathedral’s historic architecture will become a backdrop for the sensory experience, which will take guests on a journey that brings the nativity story to life.
The large-scale Son et Lumiere project will see lights and sound filling the majestic building, including stunning Christmas related images that will be projected onto the front elevation and the interior walls. Illuminations will guide visitors into the building to follow the story, while encouraging both young and old to look up and enjoy the architectural splendour of the building.
During that time, the Wexford Bistro within the cathedral will be open for festive food and drinks so visitors can enjoy an evening meal before or after viewing the display. The cathedral shop will also have a special stall selling related goodies.
The Light Before Christmas: The Manger is part of a two-year programme of events, exhibitions and artworks leading up to Liverpool Cathedral’s 100th anniversary in 2024.

Join FACT on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October 2023 to celebrate their 20th Birthday! Back in 2003, FACT was Liverpool’s first purpose-built arts centre for more than 60 years.
It was a landmark moment for the city and the UK, giving moving image and digital art a place to expand, experiment and be embraced by visitors from all over the world.
To celebrate, they have lots of free events and activities lined-up, open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Highlights include hearing from some of the most influential voices in art, a behind-the-scenes tour of the largest sculpture they’ve ever exhibited, watching a film from the inside of a limousine and dancing the night away at their official after party.
Grab your free tickets to the official after party at District in the Baltic Triangle (61 Jordan St, Liverpool L1 0BE) to dance the night away. They’ll have PLUSH and Social Hours providing the party soundtrack with cabaret performances from EAT ME + PREACH and a special headline DJ set from artist Jenkin van Zyl.
Whilst most of the events are drop-in, a few do have limited spaces so book your free tickets in advance.
