Nana Funk’s Christmas Party

Nana Funk, Liverpool’s favourite all singing, all dancing Nana, will be lighting up Downstairs at the Everyman with some slightly dusty Christmas Sparkle.

Join Nana for an evening of chats, songs and laughter. It’ll be like Wogan… if Wogan was a Nana with a questionable hip and mysterious past. And that’s not all, Nana will have special guests: Eithne Browne & Gillian Hardie.

There’ll be oodles of festive cheer, a drop of swearing and of course, a tasty Turkey Curry Buffet.

Ticket price includes your evening meal.

Menu:
– Funky Turkey Curry buffet served with chutneys, rice and Nana bread.
– Nana’s Yule Log served with cream

An Audience with Mark and Lard

The 24th March 2004 saw the world heritage radio site of the ‘Mark and Lard Show’ come to an end with a resounding: ‘STOP…!’

Now fully twenty-one years later we can finally complete that catchphrase with an equally resounding: ‘…CARRY ON!’

Like the day Neil Armstrong stepped on to the moon (if you were born then, if not, skip this bit) or when Alan Bradley got run over by a Blackpool tram on Coronation Street (ditto) – everybody can remember where they were on that fateful day in Radio 1 history. Listening to the radio. Obviously.

Now, following high level negotiations after a chance meeting between Fat Harry White and Scoff Cruddle at a Bedford Rascal Enthusiasts rally, Mark and Marc have been coaxed back to wrestle once again on the sheepskin rug of light entertainment.

An Audience with Mark and Lard will be held at the Floral Pavilion Theatre in New Brighton on Tuesday 22 April 2025 and the ordeal will begin at 7.30 pm assuming everyone gets their act together.

Tickets are available in person from the Floral Pavilion box office or BOOK IT NOW online: An Audience with Mark and Lard – Floral Pavilion

Community Chronicles

Collective Encounters is proud to present Community Chronicles, an immersive, community-driven theatre experience set to engage audiences through a unique blend of participatory, interactive and democratic performance, built from the ground up. Over three nights in three venues across the Liverpool City Region, Community Chronicles invites audiences to step into a performance shaped by and for the community, offering a rare opportunity to engage with art that reflects real lives and real concerns.

Developed in collaboration with local participants, artists, and partner organisations, Community Chronicles transforms the traditional theatre experience by positioning the audience as active members in the narrative. Each performance unfolds through four chapters, each led by a ‘Greek chorus’ of performers, with live musical interludes setting the tone. Each chapter presents a thematic provocation, such as ‘Us and Them – Them and Us’, exploring divisions, community dynamics, and the world we want to build together. Guided by facilitators, audience members collaborate creatively, feeding their insights back into the performance in real time.

Community Chronicles was developed with contributions from our Adult Theatre for Social Change, Women in Action, and Care-Experienced Young People groups. Through months of workshops, participants and community members engaged in outreach sessions, exploring questions such as “What issues are important to you?” and “does theatre have any place in telling your story?” This process allowed themes to emerge organically through shared experiences and artistic exploration.

Ruby Wax: I’m Not As Well As I Thoug...

After a complete sell-out first run in 2023, Ruby Wax’s rawest, darkest, funniest and most compelling stage show yet announces brand new dates for 2024, thanks to enormous demand.

“The original idea behind this show was based on the extreme journeys that I wanted to take in order to find an antidote to living a frazzled life. Along the way I wanted to find meaning, peace, happiness – the stuff we’re all chasing. However, after some transcendent experiences, I ended up in a mental institution. Obviously, I didn’t find what I was looking for.”

‘I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was’ is Ruby’s first tour show in four years following her critically acclaimed, sell-out tour, ‘How To Be Human’.
