4AM Productions proudly present their first ever all female show: Give Me A Break!
Give Me a Break is a devised comedy about four women in a thankless job, waitressing for a wage that doesn’t meet their needs and dealing with idiocy and disrespect from customers and managers alike. Constance is a long-term server dreaming of her old passions; Erika is a budding musician discovering herself anew; Alice is a newbie trying to rebuild from trauma; and Jazz is an activist struggling to uphold her principles without alienating those around her. Through their conversations and conflicts, we’ll learn more about what brought each of them to this point in their lives, why they put up with everything they put up with and whether they will ever get that break they’re all waiting for.
Have you ever been walking down the street, minding your own business, when you suddenly remember that the patriarchy is still in place and become overwhelmed with righteous fury? Join us for an evening. Laugh, cry and rage against the system as we explore the experiences of four women managing the expectations of the modern world, as created and performed by themselves.
