Jack, a poor country boy, trades the family cow for a handful of magic beans, which grow into a massive, towering beanstalk reaching up into the clouds. Jack climbs the beanstalk and finds himself in the castle of an unfriendly giant…

Aladdin – Christmas Pantomime

Aladdin tells the legendary rags to riches story of a Chinese street urchin who falls in love with a beautiful princess. Will Aladdin overcome the evil Abanazar and be free to marry his Jasmine? Will the Genie of the Lamp gain her freedom? Will Widow Twanky & Wishee Washee get the laundry done in time?!

A Christmas Carol

On Christmas Eve, the most magical night of the year, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is whisked away on a terrifying journey through the past and into the future, accompanied by three fearsome ghosts determined to make him realize the true meaning of Christmas. Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story is brought alive in this wonderfully traditional production, complete with beautiful period costume, song, dance, and a magnificent original musical score.

Elf: A Christmas Arena Spectacular

ELF, the hit Hollywood blockbuster movie has been supersized into a live arena spectacular for this Christmas with a massive stage featuring amazing film backdrops on a huge LED screen plus a mobile stage that travels the auditorium, so everyone gets a close-up view of the action.

The presentation features Santa’s flying sleigh, audience snowball fight, indoor snowstorm, a giant candy cane journey from the North Pole, aerial cirque stars and giant tv screens so you don’t miss any of the spectacle.

The story is hilariously recreated by a large cast of performers into the biggest live Christmas show in the UK. The festive spectacular will feature West End star Steven Serlin stepping into the big floppy shoes of Will Ferrell to play Buddy the Elf.

The cast also features Blackpool and Butlins resorts new comedy star Jordan Conway in a multitude of zany characters. TV’s ‘Birds Of A Feather’ comedy actor Charlie Quirke as the cop.  Kelly Banlaki returns as the leading lady playing Buddy’s love interest, Jovie the elf.

This Christmas Spectacular production features a book written by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers and Hairspray) and an original score of great songs by Matt Sklar and Chad Beguelin that has delighted audiences on Broadway and the West End.

The Royal Court Christmas show is back baby!

You want stupid jokes? We’ve got ’em. You want the best live music in town? We’ve got that too. Rude words, drinks at your table and great meals before the show? We’ve got it all covered!

The Royal Court Christmas shows are deffo not for kids so leave them at home and treat yourselves to a great night out!

Jack’s mum is fuuumin’. That little divvy has taken their only cow to St John’s and instead of selling him for cash, he brought back a handful of beans. Then, to make matters worse, he lashed them into the back yard and this massive weed has grown up through her bespoke Italian paving stones and put a big hole in her butterfly bush.

But Jack’s problems are only just beginning. After legging it up the new tree to get away from his mum, he’s found something even more terrifying. A fearsome giant is after him because Jack was trying to pinch his bird. What the fee fi fo fum is going on?

Shrek The Musical

BOST Musicals are returning to the Liverpool Empire with their hilarious production of Shrek The Musical.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this big, bright, beautiful musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ‘ears’.

“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…” and thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero, who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue.

Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a biscuit with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got an enchanting, all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy.

Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori and a side-splitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire.

With fabulous costumes, scenery and puppets (including a fire-breathing dragon), this production is fantastic fun for the whole family.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe). All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI Europe.

Christmas at The Athenaeum

Artsgroupie CIC, and The Athenaeum have teamed up for a special celebration of traditional festive entertainment.

For those who enjoy that nostalgic Christmas feeling, the public are invited to a unique festive event to mark the beginning of December and the Yuletide celebrations.

A unique evening of recreation in the historical surroundings of The Athenaeum, a 225 year-old private members club, founded in 1797 by prominent Liverpudlians of the day. Feelings of festivity couldn’t be more heightened than in this setting of Roaring Twenties aesthetics at 12-18 Church Alley.

The team will present a personally selected collection of well-known poems, stories and carols to share, a cornucopia of festive joy.

Those with Scrooge-like tendencies are encouraged to stay at home

Judy & Liza

A dazzling and heart-warming stage show charting the careers and relationship between Hollywood mother and daughter Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli is coming to the Epstein Theatre this month. 

Captivating audiences for over a decade, Judy & Liza is coming home to Liverpool, the city where the show was originally created, for a special one-off show. It plays the Epstein Theatre on Saturday 19th November at 7.30pm.

Judy & Liza is produced by Bill Elms Productions and On Song Productions; created and written by West End performer, Liverpool’s own Emma Dears who appears as Liza Minnelli; with Francis Goodhand as musical director.

Emma performs alongside Helen Sheals, who plays Judy Garland. Together they belt out timeless classics with uncanny resemblance of Judy and Liza, bursting with their unrivalled and elusive star quality.

The incredible talents of two of the biggest names in Hollywood showbusiness – mother and daughter Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli – are reunited thanks to this sensational musical experience.

This dazzling production tells the turbulent tale of the stars against the backdrop of their infamous 1964 London Palladium concert. Audiences are taken on an emotional rollercoaster journey as they discover the uncanny parallels between some of Judy and Liza’s most iconic songs and their own personal lives.
