The popular Family Art Club at the Lady Lever is back!
Is your child aged between 7 and 12? Do they love art and being creative? If so then family art club is perfect for you.
Together you will explore the gallery, experiment with different materials and learn new skills. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
Free tickets will be available to book from around 2 weeks before each session here. If you are unable to attend the session please cancel your place, as demand for Family Art Club is high.
This is a free activity for children and adults and no need to book – just pop along and get involved.
The completed build will involve over 16,500 LEGO bricks! The workshops will be led by Steve Guinness, a Master-Builder, LEGO ideas Fan Designer and winner of the ‘Legomasters’ Channel 4 TV series.
This activity is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Taking inspiration from their incredible collections at World Museum they will be crafting and creating art and objects.

Please note that this event is aimed for ages 3+ and may include use of a a variety of crafting equipment including scissors, glue, paper etc. Adult supervision is required at all times.
These sessions operate on a drop in basis and you may be asked to come back later at a busy times.
World Museum’s relaxed shows have adjustments to be more inviting for visitors with sensory needs and their friends and families.
These adjustments include: low level lighting left on during the shows, lower volume levels, freedom for visitors to move around and freedom to leave and re-enter the planetarium. People may like to chat or respond to shows while they are running.
They will have sensory toys and objects alliable for visitors to use. There will be reduced ticketing for one show on each relaxed day to allow more space for their visitors.
Join The Reader from the comfort of your own surroundings for this special afternoon celebrating one of the UK’s best-loved poets.
Experience the joy of Shared Reading – live and aloud – in this online event where they’ll be exploring the work of Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, together. At the end of the session, Simon himself will join them to read and take part in a live Q&A.
If you’ve never experienced Shared Reading before, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try. Their friendly Reader Leaders will guide you as we begin by reading from a selection of Simon’s poems.
They’ll talk and reflect as they read and as with all Shared Reading groups, there’s no pressure to read aloud or speak. How you choose to experience Shared Reading is up to you.
Learn how to use the Bluecoat’s 100 year old intaglio press to produce etchings using both soft and hard grounds.
Etching is a printmaking technique that uses a chemical reaction to produce indents on a metal plate the indents hold ink that when put through a press with damp paper create a print.
This workshop is only available for people 18 and over.
Learn how to make a Christmas table centre with candles, with Joy from Flowerhaus.
You can make all your friends and family be the envy of this amazing table centre with candles.
No previous experience is necessary as you will be guided throughout. The basic tools and equipment used in floristry will be discussed to give you a better understanding of what they are used for. There will be a demonstration in stages to allow you to make this beautiful design and take it home.
You will provide all your own materials to include:
– a pair of scissors
– one block of oasis for fresh flowers
– a spray tray (which can be purchased on the day)
– one or two candles
– a colour co-ordinated selection of flowers with lots of Christmas greens e.g holly, spruce conifer ivy, laurel, bay leaf, etc to suit your home décor (artificial or dried materials can be included, cones, berries, baubles etc )
– fresh greenery foliage must be included or cut some from the garden.
Enjoy a 2 hour Christmas Wreath Making workshop; or a Festive Afternoon Tea with Mulled Wine and Live Entertainment; or both!
Christmas Wreath Making
Join Joy from Flowerhaus at their Christmas Wreath making workshop between 10.30am – 12.30pm. What a way to greet all your friends and family into your home with a beautiful Christmas door wreath!
No previous experience is necessary as you will be guided throughout and all the base materials will be provided for you on the day to include one mossed frame, Christmas spruce, binding wire and stub wires to attach your accessories. The basic tools and equipment used in floristry will be discussed to give you a better understanding of what they are used for and there will be a demonstration in stages to allow you to make this beautiful design.
You just need to bring scissors/secateurs, Christmas ribbon to make your own bow, cones, and any other accessories you wish to include to decorate your wreath to your very own theme (e.g. berries, dried fruits, pine cones, etc).
Festive Afternoon Tea
Enjoy a festive Afternoon Tea between 12.30pm – 2pm whilst listening to Christmas carols performed by the angelic voices of Holistic Harmonies. Included in the Afternoon Tea will be a selection of festive filled finger sandwiches, pigs in blankets, cranberry topped pork pie, goats cheese & red onion quiche, fruit scones and a selection of sweet treats along with tea, coffee and mulled wine!

Grab yourself an Activity Sheet and explore the FACT galleries, discovering new objects and artworks as you go!
You will then end your adventure in The Box, create your own digital homes, try on some VR headsets and wonder what the families of the future will look like!
All young people are welcome with their accompanying guardians/parents. Some of the more technical activities such as using video game consoles are suited for ages 7 up to 13.
There will also be some craft-based activities available for under 7 years old, so the whole family can come along.

Tools to Transform is a workbook for Asian diasporic organising in Europe. Co-edited by 7 Asian grassroot networks, this workbook shares on-the-ground reflections, strategies and practices from 10 organisers and collectives working in relation to South, South-east and East Asian communities across Europe.
Tools to Transform is a free online resource, aimed at artists, curators, educators, community leaders and all others interested in organising in relation to Asian diasporas and building intra and inter-community solidarities.
These workshops are open to BiPoC and have been programmed by FACT with curator in residence, Annie Jael Kwan, in response to the exhibition Future Ages Will Wonder.
