Future Walls is delighted to host @lauraferrieswriter for a creative writing workshop responding to their current exhibition, ‘Pastry and Shame’ by @elliehosk.

You’ll get a chance to flex your literary muscles, as well as catching the exhibition before it closes on the 18th!

Willow Weaving event at the Sky Garden

Head along to the museum’s Sky Garden and have a go at willow weaving in this free event!

There are two sessions to choose from:

Join Arts Groupie’s FREE play reading group at Liverpool Central Library. In a session they will all read one play out aloud and discuss.

Ever wondered why museums have so many items in their collections and what’s it all for? Find out from the members of the team who look after their natural history collections.

Join the museum’s in-house team of curators and experts as we show you some of the work that goes on behind the scenes. They will explain how the make the museum work for the visiting public while also feeding into exciting research with acedemics from around the world.

This event is free and you can drop in at anytime during the day.

Inspirational Black Scousers

Join the Museum of Liverpool for a guided tour through the stories of some of the many inspirational Black British people connected to Liverpool.

Meet at the museum’s welcome desk on the ground floor for this free opportunity.

Sessions take place at 11am and 1.30pm on 1, 2, 8, 10, 16, 17 and 23 October.

Meet and Make: Hand Loom Weaving

Spend a relaxing afternoon at Sudley House learning a new skill and getting to know new people.

In this interactive session we will learn how to weave using a hand loom to make a fabric artwork to take home. Our friendly facilitator will guide you through the process and there is no need to have any experience, just bring yourself and some enthusiasm. Following the interactive session we will take the opportunity to head to the café for a chat. You never know, you might leave with a new friend as well as a new craft!

This session is perfect for adults over the age of 18 who are interested and inspired to continue creating. Your £20 ticket includes materials, facilitator, and a hot drink in the café.

Up close with the 1960s – Beyond...

Liverpool in the 1960s – were you there or were you square?

Be inspired by our Beyond the Beat exhibition and join their facilitator as they share real and replica 1960s items from their museum’s handling collection.

Immerse yourself in the fashions, the toys and Liverpool life of the 1960s. A treat for all ages this summer!

Drop in at any time between 1.30 and 4pm.

Convenience Gallery life drawing

Convenience Life drawing is back this summer, with a session at their pop up location at the former Marks and Spencer building in Birkenhead.

Sessions are untaught, relaxed sessions with poses that range from 5 to 20 minutes and are perfect for people of all abilities. So whether it’s your first time or whether you’ve been drawing for years this can be a great way to practice.

They provide boards, and have a mixture of materials and pens, pencils on site, however you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to bring along your own.
