Supported by Liverpool One Foundation. Grounded is a series of FREE workshops and activities during 2024 and 2025 supporting teenage mental health and wellbeing in nature.

During the summer holidays, the programme will launch with a series of spoken world workshops supporting teenage mental health and wellbeing in nature. The sessions will take place during the summer holidays at Sudley Walled Garden on 22, 23, 24 August 1-3pm (students should be to attend all 3 workshops before booking) and will be led by writer and performer Helen Jeffery

SRD 2024: Health, Medicine and Transat...

This workshop invites members of the public to help shape future displays at the International Slavery Museum.

It concentrates on artefacts connected to the history of medicine and transatlantic slavery and explores how these should be represented at the museum. The workshop contemplates some of the ways that contemporary health inequalities experienced by Black communities are legacies of transatlantic slavery.

Look After Your Knees Workshop

Join Nat for a workshop exploring some of the techniques and approaches she used making her new solo show, co-created with Jamie Wood.

The workshop will be an opportunity to play, share and experiment, in a supportive environment, with new, old or yet to be conceived ideas.

They’ll move, write and hopefully do some stuff they can’t even imagine at this point.

 

100 Years of Creativity – Drypoi...

As they get ready to celebrate 100 years since the Bluecoat became an arts centre, be inspired by a century of creativity and create your own unique artwork using Drypoint Etching.

In this taster session, you’ll be shown how to create a drypoint plate, how to etch your own design into the plastic surface, ink it up and print a small edition of unique artworks on their 90 year old etching press.

The Bluecoat became an arts centre in 1927, the first in the UK. Find out more here.

Future Walls is delighted to host @lauraferrieswriter for a creative writing workshop responding to their current exhibition, ‘Pastry and Shame’ by @elliehosk.

You’ll get a chance to flex your literary muscles, as well as catching the exhibition before it closes on the 18th!

Ever wondered why museums have so many items in their collections and what’s it all for? Find out from the members of the team who look after their natural history collections.

Join the museum’s in-house team of curators and experts as we show you some of the work that goes on behind the scenes. They will explain how the make the museum work for the visiting public while also feeding into exciting research with acedemics from around the world.

This event is free and you can drop in at anytime during the day.
