Design and make your dream Tate Liverpool
Are you an avid architect or the next Bob the Builder? Tate Liverpool’s half term activity challenges you and your family to imagine and design a new Tate Liverpool building for the future.
Use their range of creative materials to draw, make and build your ideal gallery. Perhaps you’d like it to feature a giant inflatable animal on the roof or a water slide in the entrance – go wild with your ideas!
They’d love to see your designs and mini models of what you’d imagine the gallery to look like. Share photos of your creations with us on social media and tag @tateliverpool.
They also have free Explore and Draw sketchbooks available every day.

Liverpool Independent Art School’s excellent Life Drawing classes are back at Smithdown Social Arts Hub – Gallery 455.
Head along and draw with Liverpool Independent Art School. Everyone is welcome to join them for a few hours drawing and a cup of tea.

The return of their much loved life drawing events at the excellent 92 Degrees Coffee on Hardman Street Liverpool. They aim to nurture a very relaxed and supportive playful approach to drawing.
Their models are brilliant and tuition is offered for any level of experience . Some basic materials are available but we advise the use of your own hard backed sketchbook to get the most out of the session . You can contact them with any questions.
A sensorial, deep listening experience, inviting you to connect with the alchemical transformation that happens through fermentation.
Plunge your hands into sourdough in this interactive encounter, get up close and personal with flour, water and trillions of bacteria whilst listening to a guided meditation.
Leave with your own jar of sourdough mother and instructions on how to care for it and make your own bread at home.
MUSH is a participatory sensorial installation; a fun, gooey, deep listening experience, inviting you to consider: how would it feel to be one of 40-trillion microorganisms inside a human being’s microbiome? Embark on an audio journey, move your hands through the MUSH and experience a sensorial improvisation like no other.
The experience lasts approximately 25 minutes.

Free Creative Writing Workshop for Black, Asian and ethnically diverse creatives with Claire Beerjeraz and Tmesis Theatre.
This workshop is part of an R&D process for Tmesis’ new show, SealSkin and will explore themes around this myth and self-identity with poet and writer Claire.

Are you looking to put on your first exhibition and not sure where to start? Or are you looking for tips and tricks on how to improve your exhibition game? This session, delivered by Convenience Gallery, will share tips and tricks on how you can put on a boss exhibition.
The first part of this session will focus on:
The second part of this session will be interactive and attendees will get the chance to plan their own exhibition, with the support and guidance of Convenience Gallery. We recommend people have examples of their work, or work they find inspiring (images on your phone are fine – no need to bring physical works).

About the Practitioner: Andrew Shaw is Co-Founder and director of Convenience Gallery. Andy works across Convenience Gallery on curation, programming, marketing, design, communication, admin and finance, future planning, funding and pretty much everything it takes to run a business really alongside Ryan Gauge. He studied Interactive Arts at University and has a background working in graphic design and marketing, as well as in structural steel.

A Lovely Word is back, downstairs at the Everyman on the first Thursday of every month.
A Lovely Word is Liverpool’s most eclectic poetry night, featuring two halves of open mic poets, and a headliner beginning the first half. Hosted by Alex Ferguson, this free event is a fun, relaxed and friendly evening of performance poetry.
Gerry Clarkson (AKA Guerrilla Lips) has become a leading stalwart of Liverpool’s poetry scene over the past five years, and has performed as guest poet at numerous venues and events across the North West and London.
He has headlined the Everyman’s Christmas Cabaret show 2020 and has performed poetry on BBC Radio. A recent recipient of the Everyman’s Artists Back2Back writers’ grant and a graduate in International Journalism, Gerry describes himself as a grass roots poet who offers a very personal global perspective.
Influenced by his Black African and Caribbean heritage and growing up in Liverpool, Gerry’s writing covers issues of race, ethnicity and perceptions of masculinity, as well as our ever changing political and social climate.
Keen to encourage others to find their voice, Gerry has recently began delivering performance poetry workshops. His aim is to use his experience to help others gain a platform for expression through spoken word and enable them to use it as a means of cathartic release as performance artists.
His performances have been described as “the authentic voice of the lived experience,” which he delivers with a “relentless conviction.” His words hitting like “searing bullets of truth.” “He is funny witty and wise… He is on your side… He understands the pressures of reality… He doesn’t condemn you, he reminds you that you are human.” (Last Stop Sounds)
George Melling (AKA The O’wd Chap) described Gerry as; “an exciting new breed of poet who will raise you to the rafters, then slowly bring you back down to earth, before delivering his coup-de-grace.”
