Open Book is a safe space book event/club that encourages people to read more diversely and focusses on own-voice-narratives.
The afternoon event is open to young adults and people of all ages. They are hoping allow those who are older and didn’t see themselves reflected in media to be able to see what exists out there for them now.
The intention of the event is to create a safe community space to discuss books. They aim to advertise diversity within books, helping people to find books that represent them and other marginalised people. The event will promote own-voice-narratives, ensuring that the books displayed are authentically representative of the people they’re written about.

Dripped Goods & Mary Mary have collaborated to bring you a unique workshop experience combining our two favourite things; plants and jewellery.
Delivered in Mary Mary’s beautiful studio space in the Baltic Triangle surrounded by flowers, Amy, the founder of Dripped Goods will guide you to create a bespoke silver ring. Working with a soft wax we will use plants to imprint texture onto the surface of the rings, creating spontaneous and one-of-a-kind jewellery for you to treasure.
Florals/foliage will be provided by Mary Mary to use on the day, however you are more than welcome to bring your own along too (in fact it is encouraged!)
The workshop will last around 2.5 hours during which you will learn the basics of working with soft wax and create a unique ring for yourself or a loved one. It is a slow, mindful and fun process. The ticket price includes your ring cast in 100% recycled sterling silver and sent to you in the post. Rings will take approximately 3-4 weeks to cast and finish after the workshop.
What’s included:
- How the lost-wax casting process works
- Forming your own ring from soft wax
- Sizing a ring in wax
- Texturing the surface of your ring using foliage
- Your ring cast in Recycled Silver and sent to you
All materials are provided including wax, hand tools, craft knives and tea lights. If you would like to use specific foliage/plants you may bring these with you on the day. You may also bring drinks/snacks if you wish.
