Absolute Acoustic

Admission £10
Start Time 19:00
End Time 21:00

Join British Music Experience for a special acoustic evening featuring some outstanding North West singer-songwriters, presented by the See You Down The Front podcast.

Headlining the event is Liverpool-based folk singer Calum Gilligan who recently won the showcase final for rising stars at the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival.

He writes a subtle blend of Celtic folk and Americana music with influences ranging from Woody Guthrie and Christy Moore, to contemporary folk artists such as Kris Drever and Kate Rusby. His lyrics form the heart of his music, with melodic guitar and powerful vocals carrying the words aloft.

Joining Calum on the bill is Jenny Colquitt, who recently released the well-received singles `Dirty Town’ and `Shape’ which will form part of her debut album to be released later this year. Jenny’s alternative folk, pop and Americana style has drawn comparisons with the likes of KT Tunstall and Eva Cassidy.

Liverpool-based Motel Sundown’s influences range from Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles to Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. With rich, earthy harmonies their music is a unique blend of Americana, Country and Folk Rock.

Rounding off the bill is Greg Oldfield who has garnered great popularity through his Industrial Folk genre and its successful Smoking Dragons project. He is a singer/songwriter with songs that reflect local interest, with words that resound and characters that you seem to know even if you haven’t met them yet.

Tickets £10.

Doors 6.45pm. Curfew 10.15pm.

Please note, their museum galleries are closed during events.
