St George’s Hall and the University of Liverpool Confucius Institute are excited to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon with you this February.
Join us for an incredible show, highlighting the beauty of Chinese culture in our exquisite Great Hall. There will be a traditional dragon dance, martial arts demonstrations, Chinese music, and much more.
Why not celebrate in style with a VIP ticket, which includes special access to our VIP welcome reception? All our VIPs will receive a glass of fizz on arrival, a bite to eat from our selection of canapes, and the opportunity to try your hand at some traditional Chinese crafts.
Dr Penny Ding, Deputy Director of University of Liverpool’s Confucius Institute said:
“Let’s come together to bring in the Year of the Dragon by celebrating friendship and diversity in the Liverpool community. See you at the Gala – where tradition meets a vibrant celebration!
Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with us at the Confucius Institute‘s Chinese New Year Gala! This year marks our most splendid celebration yet, held at the magnificent St George’s Hall. For nearly a decade, we’ve joyously hosted this event for local school children and young people, embracing the spirit of the Spring Festival, recently honoured as a UN holiday. Our theme, ‘Friendship, Diversity, and Inclusion,’ reflects the rich multicultural tapestry of Liverpool. As we usher in a year brimming with blessings and good fortune, we extend our warmest wishes for a happy and prosperous Year of the Dragon to everyone in Liverpool.”
