Henry Priestman and John Reilly

Admission £18-£21
Start Time 20:00
End Time 22:00

After a sold out show in 2019, Henry Priestman and John Reilly return to the Philharmonic Hall Music Room with another exceptional night of original music, from two of the most inspirational wordsmiths of the modern age.

Joined by their long-term collaborators, the evening will be a wonderful mix of musical styles that complement each other beautifully.

In 2009, Henry Priestman (who wrote hits for Yachts in the 70s and for The Christians in the 80s) reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter, releasing his debut solo album Chronicles of Modern Life to critical acclaim, followed by Last Mad Surge of Youth in 2014, another critically-acclaimed record.

Liverpool born, Sheffield based singer-songwriter John Reilly has had airplay on BBC Radio 2 and radio stations around the world. He has sold 250,000 records both with his band Boy on a Dolphin, and during his solo career. Playing songs from his three solo albums, plus Boy on a Dolphin favourites, Reilly’s live shows are an intimate and spiritual experience not to be missed.

John Reilly’s Canadian co-writer and pianist Lewis Nitikman has produced, played and written three gold albums in Canada. He has played with various bands, including The Beach Boys, The Guess Who, The Dooby Brothers and Def Leopard.

Alongside working with Henry Priestman, in 2021 Les Glover joined Dan Powell’s (Slade) side project Don Powell’s Occasional Flames and released their wonderful debut album Just My Cup of Tea. Onstage Henry and Les manage to mix poignancy, chaos, laughter, and tears in equal measures.
