Over the past few months, a group of young people through the Kinship Carers Charity, Liverpool, have met weekly to participate in workshops with dance artist Paula Hampson. Together they have explored the lives and experiences of the children who once attended the Blue Coat Charity School when Liverpool was at its height as a global port city.
The young people have engaged creatively with archive material, to interpret and share their ideas through movement, visual art, and creative writing to reimagine the lost stories and unheard voices of the past. These workshops will culminate in a special movement performance at the Bluecoat with Paula Hampson.
We hope you can join us and support the young people in presenting their reimagined stories and forgotten voices of the children who once boarded at the Blue Coat Charity School.
