Join Make CIC’s introduction to woodwork class, part of their woodwork programme for beginners and learn some new skills.

A great way to hone your woodworking skills, or to learn a new skill from scratch, this four hour hands-on class will take you through the different skills and techniques needed to create your own toolbox!

Using recycled and reclaimed wood, our woodwork tutor Olive will walk you through the steps to crafting your very own toolbox.

During the class you’ll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding, plaining, drilling and sawing.

You will use:

– Chop/ Mitre saw – to cut wood at various angles

– Band saw – to rip through timber

– Jigsaw – to create free form cuts

– Drill driver – for pilot holes & fixing screws

– Pillar drill – to bore vertical holes

– Disc / Belt sander – for accurate, powerful sanding

– Palm sander – for versatile sanding

Join our class and build your confidence using a range of woodworking tools and techniques, while making your very own toolbox / planter / storage box of your choice!

All tools, equipment and materials will be provided on the day.

Please arrive 15 mins before the class begins. There will also be a short break during the session.
