Liverpool MakeFest is back, and frankly, things may get out of hand.
Expect robots. Expect lasers. Expect 3D printers. Expect lace makers, coders, artists, tinkerers, synth people, LEGO cities, strange gadgets, beautiful objects, repaired objects, objects made from other objects, and at least one thing that makes you say:
“What even IS that?”
You can make things, break things, fix things, print things, stitch things, draw things, code things, press buttons, ask ridiculous questions and meet the people who thought, “I wonder what happens if I try this?”
BRING THE KIDS. SERIOUSLY.
There’s loads for younger makers to get stuck into too — hands-on activities, buttons to press, things to build, things to draw, things to make and plenty of people who are very happy to explain what they’re doing.
You don’t need to worry about whether they’ll “get it”. Curiosity is the only qualification.
And if they leave asking for a 3D printer, a soldering iron, a sewing machine or several hundred LEGO bricks, we accept absolutely no responsibility.
There’ll be tech for the geeks, crafts for the crafty, activities for kids, curiosities for grown-ups and plenty for anyone who has ever taken something apart just to see what was inside.
No experience required.No special knowledge required.No sensible level of curiosity required.
Just turn up and have a go.
