Latin American Culture Day returns to Future Yard!
On Sunday 17th August, Luma Creations once again take over our indoor and outdoor spaces to celebrate the culture of the Latin world, with music, dance, art, workshops and a whole lot of amazing food.
Following the overwhelming success of last year’s vibrant and joy-filled event, we are thrilled to announce that Latin American Culture Day will return to Future Yard in Birkenhead on Sunday 17th August 2025!
Presented by Luma Creations in partnership with Future Yard, and proudly supported by Wirral Council, this free, family-friendly celebration is set to be even bigger and more exciting than before—offering a lively, colourful, and unforgettable experience for all.
What To Expect
From traditional rhythms to modern beats, the day will be filled with an incredible mix of live music, dance performances, and family-friendly activities that capture the heart and soul of Latin America. There will be performances from a wide range of artists—from professional and emerging musicians to community-led groups—offering a joyful celebration of cultural identity and artistic expression.
Dance troupes will bring energy and movement to the stage, showcasing both folkloric and contemporary styles. Children can enjoy face painting, crafts and entertainment throughout the day, and all visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere while exploring stalls filled with authentic Latin American food and products.
Some of last year’s favourites will be returning, including Luma Creations’ very own Folklorico Dance Troupe, Colibri Mexican Folkdance, and local Latino DJ Muvelo. With an exciting blend of local, national and international talent, the day promises to be filled with colour, music, flavour and community spirit. Also joining the line-up are drum group Comparsa La Bomba, Luma Quartet and talented singer-songwriters Tocha and El Matteo.
Celebrating Culture and Community

Many attendees last year shared how much it meant to connect with their cultural roots and celebrate with others in the Latin American community, some discovering just how large and thriving that community is here in the North West. Others spoke of how uplifting it was to enjoy such a rich cultural event for free, right on their doorstep.
At Luma Creations, we are dedicated to exploring, celebrating and disseminating Latin American arts and culture. Through events, workshops, performances and artist development, we aim to challenge stereotypes, elevate underrepresented voices, and create opportunities for meaningful connection. Our work reflects the diversity of Latin America and its diaspora, and we believe strongly in the power of the arts to unite, empower, and inspire.
Latin American Culture Day is a shining example of that mission, bringing together people of all backgrounds to share in a cultural celebration that is inclusive, uplifting and full of life. It’s an honour to return with this event, and to continue building platforms that amplify Latin American voices and stories.
