Make Time For Love is a programme of free activities to celebrate the creativity that exists in the Wavertree and Picton neighbourhoods as part of Culture Liverpool’s Creative Neighbourhoods programme.
The programme celebrates love for families, neighbours, community, and friends. It is the finale of a 2-year programme called Picton Play with communities in L15, and a project by arts organisation Metal, with artists YARA + DAVINA, commissioned by Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council. On Saturday 20th September:
- Drop-in floral tribute and postcard making workshops with artists YARA + DAVINA, 11:00 - 13:00 in the Rose Garden
- Unveiling of four clocks by YARA + DAVINA in collaboration with Asylum Link, Capeesh, Damien John Kelly House and Love Wavertree, 13:15 – 14:15 at Wavertree Town Hall
- Live readings by our three commissioned writers, Hanan Issa, Sophie Herxheimer, and Joelle Taylor, 14:15 – 15:20 at Wavertree Library
- Live musical performance of original songs by Capeesh, 15:20 – 15:30 at Wavertree Library
- Self-guided soundwalk by local artist Sara Wolff available via the ECHOES app: listen, in specific locations, to music, field recordings and spoken word gathered from around the neighbourhood
- Collect a special edition pin from Love Wavertree
- Curated playlist of love songs playing in businesses along the High Street
