Minimum Rage Collective presents The Shape of Stories, an eclectic, multidisciplinary offering from the people that make up the Bluecoat Arts Centre’s front of house team, along with some cherished friends.
Designed to be inclusive and collaborative, the exhibition embraces Jerry Saltz’s invitation to “Be a vampire, form a coven,” encouraging artists to find strength, support and inspiration within their creative communities.
Minimum Rage started out as a zine created by artists working in creative-adjacent hospitality, motivating one another to make new work. This show is born of a shared desire to honour our perspectives, reclaiming and showcasing a sense of three dimensionality that can often get lost while we perform our professional roles. We’re excited to have our work speak for us on the walls, plinths and screens of one of Liverpool’s most beloved and accessible galleries, the Bridewell.
Featuring a dazzling array of work in mediums as diverse as its participants, The Shape of Stories seeks to transcend the constraints, expectations and formalities of today’s art world. While the idea had been discussed for some time, this event will mark the first time it has been brought to life.
A private view will be held at the Bridewell on Prescot Street on Friday 28th August, 6-9pm and the gallery will be open to the public between (time) and (time) until Tuesday 1st September.
