Sharp-tongued Merseyside indie rock trio 'Modern Marriage' are delighted to announce the release of their debut album ‘'Grim Up North.' The album showcases the band's signature blend of chimey, Rickenbacker-driven guitar pop and twisted, highly observational storytelling. The songwriting explores the weird, the wonderful and the mundanity of everyday life; from the petty-crime-noir of opener 'Terry's Last Fag,' the misadventures of an octogenarian banjo player in 'Gerry and His Pacemaker,' and culminating with the Velvet Underground-meets-Crosby Stills and Nash epic You Can't Send Yer Ma To Blackpool' - the story of trying and failing to combine football away days with family holidays.
