The growing use of AI in policy and health decision-making has far-reaching potential. From writing poetry to preventing the next pandemic, anything seems possible. But research shows that AI can make our existing problems worse. Data used to train AI can reinforce inequalities and racism making it harder to access good healthcare or fair justice for all communities.
How can the potential of AI meet the needs of society now and in the future? How do we prevent AI from being used to cause more harm than good? And who gets to decide what the future will look like?
