2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of what is widely considered the ‘Golden Age’ of detective fiction, and, as popular today as it was during the 1920s and 1930s, has produced some of literature’s best-loved figures.
The course will begin by providing an introduction to the origins of detective fiction through an analysis of some of its earliest examples from the 19th century, and will go on to chart the development of the genre well into the 20th century.
The talk is held online, 20 April-8 June, Tuesdays, 6pm-8pm. You can book tickets here.
