Get creative with Bluebird Upholstery, and learn how to make your very own lampshade, using timeless William Morris fabric!
During this relaxed 2.5 hour workshop you will be taught how to make a contemporary drum-lampshade to a professional standard, using your choice of beautiful William Morris fabric.
The workshop will take place in the Jan Molby Room on Floor 2 of the John Lewis store, in Liverpool One. Refreshments following the workshop (hot drink & a slice of cake) in the John Lewis Floor 3 Restaurant are included in the ticket price.
No experience necessary and all materials and equipment will be provided. Workshop numbers are limited to 6 people, which will ensure lots of one-to one teaching time.
The finished shade will be 30cm in diameter and will be suitable for use on a table lamp, or as a pendant shade.
You will go home with a wonderful lampshade for your home or to gift to a lucky friend, plus the skills to make many more!

Owner Imogen Woodings is an AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers) trained upholsterer & QEST Scholar, is skilled in both traditional and modern upholstery, and was featured in the 2018 book ‘A Celebration of British Craftsmanship’. As well as undertaking upholstery commissions, Imogen also makes and sells beautiful handmade lampshades & cushions.
