Join Booker Flowers for a festive morning of floristry on Sunday 3rd December at The Reader, Mansion House, Calderstones Park. The morning will start with everyone foraging for their foliage (greenery) in the beautiful grounds of The Manion House, and then heading back indoors to create a natural festive door wreath, with the materials you have gathered yourselves.
This class will cover a selection of different floral techniques to make a door wreath, from scratch, using the materials you have foraged. You can then choose from different types of natural accessories, pinecones, ribbons etc to decorate your wreath (included in the cost). Once finished the wreath will be perfect to take home to hang on your door over the festive period.
If you have been to a previous flower school class, you can still attend as you will learn something new and create something special. However, no previous experience is needed as Florists will be on hand to help and assist you (if needed).
This class is a fun way to learn about flower arranging from a professional Florist in Liverpool – perfect for a girls’ day out or a great way to get you in the Christmas mood.
Date and Time: Sunday, December 3rd, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

An exhibition from the Royal Institute of British Architects about the climate emergency and its relation to architecture.
Tate Liverpool and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) are forming a new partnership on Liverpool’s waterfront. Tate Liverpool will move into RIBA North, Mann Island from 27 October 2023 to coincide with the temporary closure of the gallery at the Royal Albert Dock for redevelopment.
The two organisations will collaborate to deliver a programme of temporary exhibitions, family activity, public talks and other events inspired by the unique collections held by RIBA and Tate. The programme will focus on art, architecture and ecology.
The first exhibition in Tate Liverpool’s new home, Long Life, Low Energy: Designing for a Circular Economy draws from RIBAs collection and considers how the design, construction, maintenance, and demolition of buildings is vital in the journey towards a global reduction of carbon emissions.

As Tate Liverpool undergoes a transformation to its Victorian warehouse home, Long Life, Low Energy reveals how architects and designers are innovating to reuse and repurpose anything from small materials to whole buildings and how we might look to the technologies of the future to navigate the climate emergency today.

Artist and DaDa Fellow Porcelain Delaney brings her show to Liverpool.
We meet Eloise in a hospital bathroom, She needs to do a sample but she just can’t go. We jump into her childhood diaries exploring what’s brought her to this moment. Eloise was a happy child, a promising ballerina with no doubt she was going to grow up to be a star.
Then at nine years old her periods start and completely derail her life. She’s thrown face first into a war against gaslighting doctors. They refuse to listen or believe her but she’s determined she will keep getting louder until someone hears. A heartbreaking and hilarious tale which anyone with endometriosis or another condition which has led to medical gaslighting will instantly recognise.
Toilet Paper Diaries had access at the heart of the play and includes creative captions and audio description. There will be an optional touch tour before the play starts.
There will also be BSL interpretation
Standard tickets £5, pay more if you can £10, or contact DaDa on info@dadafest.co.uk if you are facing financial hardship and would like to request a free place
Each year DaDa present our Edward Rushton Social Justice Lecture on the United Nations International Day for People with Disabilities (3rd December) to keep alive the passion and fire demonstrated by Rushton, a Liverpool poet, activist, abolitionist and disabled man.
This year we are thrilled to announce that we have secured a fantastic and insightful keynote speaker for the event, Ashokkumar D Mistry, who will be exploring ‘Reclaiming Nonchalance’ the value of disabled lives, particularly exploring the value of the lives of disabled children and young people.
This is a live in person event that will be BSL interpreted.
Exploring ‘Reclaiming Nonchalance’
Reclaiming Nonchalance is an invitation to activate ambition through the self-care of actively thinking beyond other people’s expectations. The lecture will dissect artworld mechanics and interrogate how Deaf Disabled and Neurodivergent artists are valued.
“We don’t want to have to be activists – however, it’s existential – instead, do we not want disabled artists to be able to make art that doesn’t exist to be worthy but ploughs its own course and the nonchalance of its substance is taken at face value”.
Limited by expectations we are subject to ‘playing-to-the-gallery’ dynamics. Living beyond peoples’ expectations activates our own ambition and forces an understanding through genuine interaction. In this year’s Edward Rushton Lecture, Ashokkumar Mistry addresses the mechanisms for valuing people, valuing everyone.
