Fabric Fairy Lights Workshop with Blue...

Head along and join Bluebird Upholstery and learn how to make a beautiful string of Fabric Fairy Lanterns.

You will make a string of 10 fabric fairy lanterns with LED lights, to add some twinkle to your home or gift to a loved one. Bluebird Upholstery will be supplying an array of gorgeous vintage and modern printed silk and cotton fabrics, including fabrics upcycled from vintage silk scarves & garments, from which you can choose your own unique fabric selections for your bespoke fairy lanterns.

Or if you would like to bring along your own fabrics then please do, this all helps to add to the personalised nature of your lights – thin cottons and silks with small to medium size patterns work best.

At the end of the session, as well as taking away your beautiful handmade string of fairy lanterns, you will receive rechargeable AA batteries and a plug-in charger, so that your lanterns can be sustainably powered for years to come!

Make a Silver Ring — Beginners Silve...

The famous carol may say ‘five gold rings’ are the most festive, but in this workshop, you’ll learn to create your very own from sterling silver – perfect as a Christmas gift for a loved one, or as a treat for yourself.

Guided by experts from Noctua Jewellery, you will make either two slim stacking rings with a semi-precious stone or a wider ring with added texture. All the rings are made of sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.

The class is ideal for complete beginners, and you will practice a range of traditional silversmithing techniques including sizing the ring, measuring the silver needed, filing, shaping the silver, soldering, adding unique textures with our collection of hammers, polishing the ring to your desired shine and finally setting the stone.

There will be members of the Noctua team at hand throughout this process to support, advise and teach you the skills needed while allowing you to make the ring independently. Those making stacking rings can also choose from a wide range of semi-precious gemstones on the day.

If you use glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, along with wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed toe shoes and tie up long hair.

This workshop is usually charged at £60 and is heavily discounted. Thanks to Liverpool BID Company, GPO and Metquarter for sponsoring this workshop in celebration of the festive season.
