Merseyside hero Ian Prowse is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and frontman of Amsterdam and previously the frontman of indie cult band Pele.
Raised on protest songs, influenced by the Celtic sounds that make Liverpool so unique, and inspired by the song writing craftsmanship of Paul Weller, Mike Scott, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello, Ian’s 30-year songwriting career and live shows have gathered him a reputation as the ‘Scouse Springsteen’ amongst his devoted fans.

A truly special team of intuitive musicians coming together by serendipity, John Perry (Only Ones) and Martin Stephenson (Daintees) certainly have a ‘new wave connection’.
In 2019, John and Martin got chatting and decided to do a pub gig together in London for a laugh. They got on so well that not long after Martin invited John to join the Daintees, as a special guest at a sold-out gig in London. John joined the band on stage for a rip-roaring version of ‘Another Girl Another Planet’, as a homage to The Only Ones. That evening of music inspired Martin to create a platform for John’s sublime guitar playing, entitled New Wave Connection.
John recently appeared as a special guest during a handful of Martin’s shows, where the New Wave Connection combo teamed up live for the first time, bringing the houses down.

The film has the full support of Bowie’s estate and features many of his greatest tracks, as well as previously unseen concert footage.
Bassekou Kouyate is one of the true masters of the ngoni, an ancient traditional lute found throughout West Africa, and is respected as one of Africa’s premier global artists.
His band, Ngoni Ba, includes ngoni players (featuring ngonis with differing tonal sizes), percussionists (talking drum, Yabara, Calebasse) and the fantastic singer Amy Sacko. Together they have revolutionised the sound of the ngoni, and radically fired centuries of griot tradition into the future.
Bassekou is recognised as both an innovator and a stronghold of traditional Malian music, and has collaborated with the likes of Ali Farka Toure, Toumani Diabate, Taj Mahal, and The Kronos Quartet, and in 2016 joined the Africa Express tour along with Damon Albarn and Paul Weller.
Bassekou’s recent album Miri (‘dream’ in Bamana) topped the world music charts, and was voted ‘Best Album of the Year’ by Songlines.
The concert is held in the Philharmonic Hall Music Room.
With every year the late Sandy Denny’s (Fairport Convention) reputation continues to grow in stature as a songwriter and interpreter of traditional material, and these six musicians that also share an impressive folk-rock pedigree, and each at the very top of their musical game, interpret Sandy’s wonderful body of work.
BBC Radio Northampton, as part of National Music Day 2017, chose ex-Fotheringay members Sally Barker (The Poozies and BBC’s The Voice) and guitarist PJ Wright (TradArrr, The Dylan Project and LJE) to celebrate the award of Sandy Denny’s Blue Plaque at Byfield Village Hall, the scene of her last-ever concert in 1978. The following year, Sally and PJ constructed a dream folk-rock band for a sell-out concert at the Byfield Village Hall to commemorate the passing of Sandy, 40 years before.
With the line up of Sally, PJ, frequent Fairport Convention guest Anna Ryder, rising star Marion Fleetwood and the rhythm section of bassist Mat Davies and drummer Mark Stevens (from now-defunct folk-rock legends Little Johnny England), the show is approached as a tribute in its best sense.

Tori will be performing with long-time collaborator bassist Jon Evans and renowned UK drummer Ash Soan, with special guest support to be announced.
Since the release of her first, career-defining solo album Little Earthquakes, and her number one album Under The Pink, Tori Amos has been one of the music industry’s most enduring and ingenious artists. Tori has transcended from commercial pop success to using her music to tackle serious issues around female gender, subsequently paving the way for a generation of young female activist popstars.
From her visceral depiction of sexual assault in Me and a Gun and her post-9/11 album Scarlet’s Walk, to her decidedly feminist stage musical The Light Princess, her work has never shied away from intermingling the personal with the political. Her stunning album Ocean To Ocean addressed the feelings of lock down, isolation, family and grief, with a gentle euphoric approach to such potentially dark musings.
Given by members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, this concert has been created especially for people living with dementia, along with their friends, family and carers.
The concert takes place in the Music Room, which is fully accessible, with facilities located within the space. Music Room has a separate entrance on Sugnall Street, with easy access from nearby parking options.
The performance space and bar area will be made as comfortable as possible for the audience. For example, lights will be kept on during the performance and there will be a separate quiet space where audience members can go during the concert.
Doors open 45 minutes before each performance and the concert will last for approximately one hour. Seating is unreserved, and all tickets include a complimentary cup of tea or coffee on arrival.

Five years after they set out on their hugely acclaimed 2018 acoustic tour, and released its companion album We The Collective, The Levellers return to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
They embark upon a brand new acoustic tour in 2023, which will be accompanied by a new album of acoustic reworkings of some of their finest compositions.
