Are you a local creative in need of advice? Introducing – Creative Community Drop In! Industry Advice. Good Food. Open Mic.

Taking place every 3 months, you can book a one-to-one session with their team of artists, producers, marketers, youth workers, access workers, administrators for specific advice to suit your needs.

Advice sessions are available to book between 1 – 5:30pm, followed by free food 5:30-6:30pm and an open mic, 7-8pm.

Grin Theatre Company are thrilled to be bringing Queertet back after a 5 year hiatus! They are holding auditions for Queertet 2024 11 and 12 May.

The Old Library will soon launch Bookulele club, offering a 6-week beginners adult ukulele course for £30. Join them on Thursdays from 7pm-8pm for 6 sessions, each lasting 1 hour, filled with music and fun!

They have a limited amount of Ukuleles available for the sessions. If you have your own, please bring it along.

Their cosy cafe/bar will be open for refreshments during the sessions.

Artists Together is a peer-led artist-development programme funded by Arts Council England via St Helens Arts in Libraries NPO. The programme aims to support all artists who are based in St Helens, but attendees to date primarily work in visual and mixed-media arts.

Building on the successes of the Artists Together programme, St Helens Arts in Libraries NPO is now looking for applications from people who may wish to lead Artists Together for the period: May 2024 – March 2025.

They are interested in hearing from individuals or collectives who have a vision for and commitment to:

▶︎ Responding to the ideas of a range of artists in St Helens, whilst generating opportunities for artists to give each other peer-support, and access professional developmental opportunities.

▶︎ Creating spaces and opportunity for artists to test, share and create new work.

▶︎ Nurturing & strengthening the Artists Together network by inviting artists of all to meet each other, share skills, experience & celebrate their practice.

They would expect the Artists Together – Lead Artist to:

▶︎ Provide regular group sessions with Artists Together attendees either online or in person as appropriate.

▶︎ Offer 1:1 support sessions to Artists Together attendees as appropriate.

▶︎ Engage Artists Together attendees actively in the co-design and delivery of the year’s programme.

▶︎ Explore opportunities to raise the profile of St Helens based artists across the North West and Nationally.

Artists are invited to submit their work for Liverpool Art Fair, which will return to the Royal Liver Building in the summer of 2024 and this year will be celebrating its 10th birthday!

Liverpool Art Fair is an annual event which started in 2012, aiming to showcase a wide range of affordable original art by a plethora of local artists; providing a unique insight into the region’s creative talent and the opportunity for everyone, from seasoned collector to first time art buyer, to own their own piece of the Liverpool art world. The COVID pandemic meant events could not be held in 2020, 2021 or 2022, but organisers dot-art were delighted to bring back the event in 2023 and this summer’s event will build on its success.

In total over 55,000 art lovers have been welcomed to the events which have showcased work by almost 2000 artists. Liverpool Art Fair believes art is for everyone, so there is work starting at £20, an under £200 section, and a ceiling price of £2000.

Liverpool Art Fair will be open to the public 6 days a week, from 28^th June– 18^th August 2024.

They want to offer visitors the best possible range of locally sourced, affordable art work, so this is an open submission event, and we are inviting all artists based within a 35 mile radius of Liverpool, to submit work for inclusion. Last year they exhibited work by a record 175 artists, and almost 40% of these went on to sell their art.

Submission Process:

• Read the Information for Artists document on the Liverpool Art Fair website to make sure you are eligible.
• Please complete the online Submission Form by midnight on Sunday 19^th May:
• You will need full details of all the works you are submitting along with images.
• You will be required to pay £5 per piece submission fee.
• Work for inclusion will be selected by their independent panel and successful artists will be notified week commencing 27th May.

To join Help to Grow: Management, your business must:

• Be a Small or Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) based in the United Kingdom
• From any business sector, employing between 5 and 249 people
• Have been operational for at least one year
• Not be a charity.

To join Help to Grow: Management, the applicant must:

• Be a senior leader and decision-maker within the business, such as Chief Executive, Finance Director, Operations Director, etc.
• Commit to completing all sessions.

Fees:

The programme is 90% funded by the Government. The fee payable by participants is £750.

A Lovely Word are looking to fill our lovely city with poetry for A Lovely Poetry Festival 2024, and we’d love your poetry in the mix.

We are looking for poets of all sorts (the more the merrier!) to take to the streets and help share our love of poetry and spread the word with the people of Liverpool as we travel the city with our Poetry Bike.

It will take place at different pop up, iconic outdoor locations across Liverpool city centre on Sunday 30th June  & Saturday 6th July.
