This role is responsible for delivering Shared Reading in diverse communities across the region, by building and maintaining relationships with a variety of partners who work with The Reader, coordinating partner and internal resources to deliver on funded programmes, building wider awareness of Shared Reading in a region through local networks, identifying regional trends and supporting opportunities to secure new funding in the region.

Our network of partners includes libraries, care homes, housing associations, voluntary sector organisations, NHS partners and more. Person Specification
Essential
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of the purpose, social mission and work
of The Reader to grow Shared Reading across the UK
• Experience of partnership working within the charitable and public sectors
• Experience of engaging groups who are likely to experience health inequalities
and/or with mental health and social care needs
• Able, with training, to deliver Shared Reading sessions
• A love of literature and understanding of its benefits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate to partners in a clear, concise and compelling way
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely under minimal supervision, remotely
• Ability to plan and prioritise work when resources are limited and timescales are
difficult
• Able to bring a positive approach to work, finding creative solutions to problems
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Willing to own data
entry on a Microsoft DMX CRM – in particular, Windows-based software
• Driving licence and ability to travel easily around Liverpool City Region

Job Description

Supporting the get in, get out and build of sets.

Stage management of productions.

Technical operation/ maintenance of theatre and performance studio space –

Person Specification:

An appreciation of the performance and production requirements of an elite training institution.

Fundraising and Development Officer – Harris Museum & Library, closes 13 Aug

Preston City Council’s Cultural Service is seeking to recruit an experienced Fundraising and Development Officer to develop our fundraising strategy for the Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library, with a particular focus on individual giving, corporate sponsorship and trust and foundation support.

The postholder will work as part of the Business Development Team reporting to the Business Development Manager.

This role will lead on and manage all aspects of fundraising for the Harris from developing and maintaining relationships with key funders, partners and stakeholders to growing individual giving, corporate sponsorship and trust fundraising income streams. Working with the Harris marketing team, you will develop an engaging supporter journey encouraging long term support for the Harris.

The Fundraising and Development Officer will need prior experience of creating and delivering successful fundraising campaigns to grow income with excellent communication skills, able to speak and communicate confidently to supporters.

This role comes at an exciting time with the Harris currently closed to deliver Harris Your Place, a £16m capital project that will transform the Harris into a leading cultural venue in Preston. Collections Assistant (Social History) – Gallery Oldham, closes 21 Aug

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved a major improvement in access to and storage of Gallery Oldham’s collections.

In the first stage of this project in Spring 2024 we will be moving our social and natural history collections to new storage facilities. We are currently working on the ongoing cataloguing and packing of the social history collection to complete this project. We are looking for a freelancer who can support our Social History Curator to carry out much of the day-to-day work on these collections.

This opportunity is a freelance position working 3 days per week at a rate of £110 per day. The initial appointment would be for 6 months.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Producer to join Shakespeare North’s ambitious Culture and Learning team. Reporting to the Senior Producer, this role will curate and deliver a programme of works for the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio.

The Project Producer will work closely with Shakespeare North Playhouse Learning and Engagement, Technical, Audience and Catering & Events teams to deliver the programme across all three spaces (the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio).

This creative and administrative role is suitable for a producer with a background of programming, producing small to mid-scale theatre shows, one off events, negotiating and issuing contracts, and working in venues.

The Reader’s Calderstones site is a large multi-purpose community setting for our Shared Reading mission, with a focus on social enterprise activity to support the charities wider work across the UK. As an assistant event manager, you will also have the responsibility of overseeing the successful delivery of a number of our internal programmed events and private hire events here at Calderstones Mansion House. This role will cover 7 days and most of your hours will be delivering the events, mostly evenings and weekends.

– Experience of Key Holder responsibilities, demonstrating an ability to confidently open and close a large site and maintain alarm systems.
