We are looking to recruit a dynamic, driven individual to work in a new events sales role at our venue on Argyle Street, Birkenhead.

We are looking to bring on board an Event Sales Co-Ordinator in a new role within our team, supported by our Head Of Live Programme and working within our Live Programme team. As a non-profit, Community Interest Company, we must develop a range of revenue streams to support our work. Ensuring we have a wide range of events being delivered at the venue is key to our long term sustainability.

This role will develop and maintain relationships with potential clients and individuals looking to host a range of private hires, corporate and commercial events at Future Yard, for example: celebrations, corporate events, parties, meetings, away-days, prize-givings and weddings. The Events Sales Co-ordinator’s responsibility is to ensure the venue has a strong pipeline of event hires that compliment our live music programme.

The Events Sales Co-Ordinator will handle in-bound enquiries, providing excellent communication with clients and rigorous organisation to ensure our production and F+B teams have all the information required to deliver excellent events. You will generate enquiries, building a sales pipeline through working with our marketing and partnerships teams.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues. Visitor Experience Duty Manager – Lakeland Arts, closes 8 Sep

You’ll be responsible for the successful and safe operation of their unique cultural venues.

You will lead visitor experience teams to ensure venues look great for audiences, from the warm welcome they receive to the fond farewell – and everything in between.

Operating independently as the responsible Duty Manager on-site, you’ll be overseeing everything front-of-the-house and play an essential part in the daily checks required to operate a safe working environment. From ensuring the highest standards of presentation and customer service to investigating and supporting teams with health, safety, security and maintenance related issues.

Job Responsibilities

As a key holder you will be responsible for opening and locking up duties, ensuring processes are followed to preserve the safety and security of venues and collections.

You will be responsible for carrying out full site checks to ensure venues look and function in great order. You will monitor and make checks regarding health, safety, security and facilities, reporting any issues and escalating emergencies and urgent issues where necessary.

You will be a first aider, fire incident controller and be trained in the use of a throw line. You will ensure the health, safety and security of visitors, staff, volunteers and contractors while on site.

You will ensure front of house staff are fully equipped and trained to carry out their roles. You will lead daily morning briefings and dedicate time to supporting team members with focused training and disseminating information.

Craft Workshop Leaders – The Crafty Hen (Liverpool / Manchester), closes 29 Aug

Come join the brood: they are seeking dynamic, experienced, workshop leaders & assistants to run ad-hoc craft sessions for their growing events company.

They are specifically looking for people who can cover the Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas with some weekday availability. (as well as weekends) Your own transport is essential. Venue Porter – Factory International, closes 28 Aug

Salary – £22,672 per annum (Manchester Real Living Wage)

Please note they are looking to fill multiple positions for this role, these are fixed-term contracts until March 2024 with the potential to become permanent.

Working across the venue, you will work within the porter team to prepare and maintain spaces for a range of activities and events, providing exceptional customer service and care. You will be a vital part of their visitor operations team working closely with the Front of House team but also with other departments across the organisation.

Activities include, moving furniture, barriers and other infrastructure as required, setting up spaces for meetings, managing incoming deliveries and post, working with Guest & Artist Liaison teams to welcome stakeholders to the building and facilitate access to back of house areas for contractors.

Completing basic maintenance tasks and working with their operations teams you will help to create a fantastic welcome for visitors in an exceptional new venue.

Young Ambassadors Facilitator – Crewe Lyceum Theatre, closes 28 Aug

Crewe Lyceum Theatre are seeking a freelancer to support the delivery of their Young Ambassadors, work experience programme.

You will be working with ages 14-18 on Tuesday afternoon 4.30-6.30pm, supporting the Creative Learning Manager to deliver creative and engaging workshops, covering a range of skills. Over the course of the year you will support the group to design and deliver their own events within the theatre and helping them to gain a silver arts award. You will also keep the register up to date and be alert to the needs of the workshop participants, be approachable and take initiative.

The ideal candidates are excellent communicators and motivators, with a passion for theatre and working with young people.

Some additional evening and weekend work, depending on the events the young people create.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

RATE OF PAY – £25 per hour, 2-3 hours a week (Travel expenses can also be covered)

Festival Coordinator – Liverpool Irish Festival, closes 4 Sept

Following a recent funding success, the Liverpool Irish Festival has a short window to recruit a Festival Coordinator, supporting Festival delivery in 2023.

This is an exciting time for them, as they approach #LIF2023 (theme: anniversary). They’re especially pleased to be able to expand their team, which they hope to do with a dynamic, friendly and energised individual.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the Artistic Director and CEO with day-to-day functions, particularly during intense periods of work (e.g., #LIF2023 19-29 Oct 2023). Headline duties candidates will be expected to be able to deliver, include

  • Front-of-house delivery
  • Volunteer management
  • Artist and venue liaison
  • Adding digital content to social media channels
  • Minute taking and preparation.

The total amount available for this role is £15,725, which can be paid as PAYE or via a freelance contract. It was initially designed to be a 75-day contract, running Sept-Dec. However, there is flexibility in making this a longer-term PT contract, depending on the role holder.

The funding allocated has to be spent by July 2024.

Due to the funding announcement date and our Festival dates, turn around for this recruitment is tighter than usual. They’d ask candidates to consider the timeline carefully and only apply if they can meet these requirements. Collections Assistant (Natural History) – Gallery Oldham, closes 21 Aug

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a major improvement in access to and storage of Gallery Oldham’s collections.

In the first stage of this project in Spring 2024, we will be moving our social and natural history collections to new storage facilities. They are currently working on the ongoing cataloguing and packing of the natural history collection to complete this project. They are looking for a freelancer who can support their Natural History Curator to carry out much of the day-to-day work on these collections.

This opportunity is a freelance position working 3 days per week at a rate of £110 per day. The initial appointment would be for 6 months.
