Engagement Assistant – Reform Radio, closes 19 Dec

Reform Radio are looking for a new Engagement Assistant to join their team, to engage with young people and organisations around Greater Manchester and support participants on to their variety of creative programmes and workshops.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people in an outreach or community environment, with a commitment to the work of Reform Radio, but we are open to considering applications from people with a range of relevant experiences.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The role of the Engagement Assistant will be to;

  • Discover, reach and recruit new participants from Greater Manchester / North of England to attend workshops, and to ensure the correct eligibility of participants
  • Develop new community links, build new relationships and networks on behalf of Reform Radio
  • Increase the awareness of the work of Reform Radio within communities and across JCP+ across Greater Manchester
  • Support the journey and smooth transition of a young person starting on a Reform Radio programme
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, and follow all systems relating to the Engagement Assistant’s role on time and to a high standard
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures
  • Attend all training as requested by Reform Radio
  • Correctly log, systemise and organise recruitment for Reform Radio projects
  • Comply with our policies
  • Be flexible to working evening and weekends
  • Deliver taster workshops and presentations

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential skills, knowledge and qualities required:

  • Excellent email and telecommunication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of work within community settings
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Confidence in public speaking

Desirable skills, knowledge and qualities required:

  • Experience of running creative workshops
  • Experience of planning and delivering presentations
  • Good use of any of the following Excel, Google Drive or CPOMs (or other data management systems)
  • A good knowledge of Greater Manchester’s geographical areas and agencies
  • Full UK Drivers License

JOB DETAILS:

Hours: 30hrs/week – This role is generally Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, but some weekend and evening work is required

Salary: £11.00 per hour

Annual Leave: 21 days + your birthday

Associate Board Member – Abandon Normal Devices (AND), closes 23 Jan

Abandon Normal Devices (AND) are looking for individuals to join their Board in 2023

About AND: They’re a radical arts organisation situated in the North of England, working globally. They curate experiences, commission and incubate new art, cinema and sound, often through collaborations with emerging technology and science.

They have developed a new, 12 month programme for two Associate Board Members. These roles will work alongside the AND Board of Trustees, and have been designed as a development programme aimed to support potential candidates who do not yet have (sufficient) board-level experience, or the required availability, but have the passion and potential to be a future AND Board member.

Event

The Associate Board Member roles have been created to support individuals who are currently under-represented in the cultural sector, providing greater access to training opportunities, and to add further diversity and richness of perspective to the organisation.

It is not necessary to have governance/board-level exposure or experience, but a general understanding of how boards work is required. The Producing Department encompasses Producing, Event Management, Artist Liaison, Scheduling and Production Administration and is responsible for the scheduling, planning and delivery of all activity.

The team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, and works across all art forms and event formats, delivering work in and around the Factory building, in the digital realm, across the city and internationally.

The principal role of the Producer is to line-produce commissions and events for MIF/ The Factory from their initial development through to their realisation and presentation to the public. Leading and line producing a number of assigned projects of scale. Responsibility for working closely with artists/creative teams to develop complex commissions from end to end. Operations Manager – Manchester Art Gallery, closes 12 Dec

Manchester Art Gallery is looking for a collaborative, agile and dynamic leader to deliver the day-to-day building operations of Manchester Art gallery (their city centre gallery), Platt Hall (www.platthall.org) and Queens Park Conservation studios, as a key member of the Gallery’s Leadership Team.

Their main strategic priority for the next four years is to deliver a capital programme across all three of our sites to improve collection storage and address long standing problems with our buildings, whilst continuing to deliver a cultural offer that attracts up to 730,000 visitors a year.

The gallery has recently restructured its operational and specialist technical teams, and this role will lead and develop the new Operations Team, reviewing and revising policies and procedures to support business critical services and activities against the City Council’s Risk Compliance Framework.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority is committed to achieving zero carbon by 2038, and, as the Operations Manager, you will be the gallery lead for environmental sustainability and carbon reduction to support this ambitious plan.

You will bring experience in facilities/operational management, with an understanding of the complex needs of a high footfall heritage buildings housing vulnerable collections.

You will demonstrate the ability to manage a complex programme of refurbishment and repairs in close working with colleagues and external specialists and contractors, and you will work in a collaborative way and be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and learn from others.
