Costume Store Assistant – Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, closes 23 Jul ’25

LIPA are looking to recruit a Costume Store Assistant to support the Wardrobe Department in the provision of costumes, costume props, costume accessories, footwear, and wigs for student productions, and all cohort student assessments.

You will support students with the hiring of costumes whilst they work either within the department or on costume-related projects, demonstrating good customer care and sensitivity to individual student needs. You may also be required to assist in the costume workroom during busy periods.

The ideal candidate will have a good organisation and an understanding of basic alterations, sewing skills, laundering and maintenance of costumes. Ability to work as part of a team and deal effectively with a range of people at all levels in the organisation is essential. The ideal candidate will have confidence working with PCs to maintain records, inventory, and reports required by the Wardrobe Manager and in accordance with LIPA’s Financial Regulations.

Head of Stage – Liverpool Empire, closes 6 Aug ’25

The Head of Stage will provide leadership on all day-to-day aspects of the stage infrastructure within the theatre relating to both the production and the building.

Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will ensure there is an efficient, cost effective and robust maintenance plan in place, meeting all operational and compliance needs from a stage maintenance perspective. You will oversee casual stage crew and dressers, and alongside the Head of Lighting and Sound oversee the senior technicians and communicate closely with visiting productions & show management to ensure a smooth get in, fit up and get out. This role will involve regular evening and weekend work. Management experience is essential.

The Liverpool Empire Theatre is the largest two-tier theatre in the country, hosting the best in touring theatre productions including musicals, opera, ballet and comedy. Lecturer in Filmmaking and Creative Technologies (Production) – The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, closes 25 Jul ’25

You will teach and lead modules in filmmaking and creative and emerging technologies at all levels (4 – 7).

More specifically, this includes production skills and experience in camera, lighting, production audio and audio and video post-production, through practical filmmaking modules, both on location and in studio.

You will also be expected to contribute to the design of new modules and the development of programmes in filmmaking and creative technologies, support students academically and pastorally, and carry out administrative duties appropriate to the role. This includes project supervision and support for students at all levels.

You will need the following key skills:

  • Multi Camera and Single Camera experience
  • Camera, Lighting and Cinematography experience
  • Audio Recording/Mixing and Audio Post-Production
  • Post-production competencies (DAW and NLE)
  • NLE editing experience (Premiere/Resolve/Avid)
  • Post-production competencies in compositing, rotoscoping, colour correction (After Effects/Fusion/Resolve/Nuke) (desirable)

A good first degree in a relevant discipline is essential with professional or higher level qualifications desirable. You must also have experience of teaching and module leadership in Higher Education as well as research competencies and experience.
