Movema is a multi-award winning, registered charity based in Liverpool and Bristol. Co-founded in 2009 by four, ethnically and socio-economically diverse females wanting to unite people through world dance. In the past 15 years we have engaged 100,000 people through accessible dance programmes in the arts, education, and health sectors.

Our mission is to reach out to and transform lives of those most in need, especially those who have experienced barriers that have impacted their ability to engage with dance.To share culturally diverse dances in safe spaces increasing understanding and tolerance.

And to co-create with our communities and artists a programme of performances, participatory workshops and artist training which celebrates and amplifies the strengths in our communities.

Movema is seeking a Co-Chair, and up to three new Trustees, to guide the organisation through its next exciting stage of development in Liverpool and Bristol.

We are seeking interest from people with a commitment to and interest in our core purpose and we welcome approaches from those considering their first Chair / Trustee role as well as experienced non-executives.

The Co-Chair will lead the Board of Trustees for Movema, alongside our existing Chair, providing strategic and governance oversight and direction for the sustainability of the organisation and its work for the benefit of its service users. We are striving to gain interest from candidates with a commitment to and interest in our core purpose and we welcome approaches from those considering their first Chair role as well as experienced non-executives.

The purpose of this role is to co-lead the Board of Trustees for Movema, providing strategic and governance oversight and direction for the sustainability of the organisation and its work for the benefit of its service users.

Movema’s Board of Trustees bring together diverse experience, skills and knowledge to work collaboratively to provide governance. The Board is supported in this, by the designated Chair or Co-Chairs, Treasurer and the Executive team. We are currently looking to appoint up to three trustees.

A successful candidate would be able to demonstrate solid leadership experience, with an ability to motivate and inspire. Strong understanding of the role of chair, with a focus on leading and developing colleagues within the Board and the executive team to enable effective leadership of the wider organisation. Commitment to the highest standards of governance and environmental sustainability, with also a deep understanding of and demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Liverpool Philharmonic’s In Harmony programme has gone from strength to strength over the years, now working with over 1750 children across North Liverpool.

As an In Harmony Lead Musician, you will deliver visionary, high-quality music education to young people, increasing their aspirations and improving their wellbeing. This position has a specific creative focus so they are looking for someone who is a confident creative musician/composer and who is able to support with the development of In Harmony curricula (specifically our creative curriculum), has extensive experience running creative workshops for whole classes, is confident with the use of music applications such as garage band, is interested in diverse genres/cultures, and is able to support with the sharing of creative best practice. Are you passionate about film and keen to develop the skills to create a cinema event at FACT that engages young audiences?
As a Young Film Programmer Trainee, they’ll support your development and equip you with the skills to deliver large-scale film events. You’ll assist the Film and Events Officer in establishing partnerships with key organisations and help develop a young film audience aged 15 to 25 years.

Lightpool Community Engagement Project Proposals – Lightpool, closes 2 Jun ’25

Lightpool are seeking project proposals from organisations to deliver a new project engaging with our local community.

Targeting groups who do not usually engage with the Lightpool Festival, and break down barriers, to increase cultural participation and create long term relationships.

Your creative project should include one of the key Lightpool strands – art, light, music, performance.

When providing a proposal, you must clearly describe:

  • Which brief(s) you are submitting a proposal for
  • How your skills and expertise is relevant to / will successfully support delivery with the target communities
  • Your approach to delivery, including engagement methods and how you will reach the target communities
  • How you plan to work with them and keep them updated with
    progress of engagement activities as well as any issues
  • A breakdown of the estimated costs for each part of the brief (including staff time and expenses such as room hire/refreshments etc.)
