The Atkinson is seeking to recruit a Performing Arts Programmer to develop an innovative and engaging year-round programme of high-quality performance events, activities and projects.

The programme will be focused at The Atkinson in Southport but on occasion may extend throughout Sefton to ensure that opportunities for cultural engagement are delivered across the Borough.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of contemporary practice across the performing arts, and a proven track record of audience development in a commercial environment.

Experience of developing the programming for a performing arts venue is essential for this role; you are expected to have a detailed understanding of the marketplace for performing arts.

You will be committed to increasing audiences, access and engagement with culture and the performing arts so that The Atkinson maintains its status as an excellent regional venue for arts, heritage, literature and information.

You will have a strong entrepreneurial vision for maximising income from The Atkinson’s programmes, and be able to demonstrate effective negotiating skills within the performing arts sector.

The Atkinson will be open to the public on some evenings and at weekends. Therefore, the postholder may be required to work at these times when it is necessary to meet the needs of the service. Travel across Sefton and the North West region is also likely to be required from time to time.

They are looking for a Creative Producer who will lead on the delivery of this creative brief, liaising with production, operations and culture colleagues to deliver the creative; overseeing all production elements and teams to create a cohesive whole feel for the following areas of the event : Opening Ceremony, Sports Presentation, Fan Zone, Gymnast After Party and city animation including integration with the River of Light.

The key focus of this role is to deliver one creative narrative across all areas that delivers a seamless spectator experience and value for money through cross-element procurement and creative.

The event delivery team is committed to delivering an unrivalled World Gymnastics Championships spectator experience – from ticket purchase to the end of the event. The operational delivery, production and marketing should be aligned with the creative vision at all touch points.

The emphasis of the creative brief is to showcase the importance of gymnastics as a world sport by working with creatives and artists, providing a platform to showcase their work, accessing new audiences and creating opportunities for international collaborations, and sustainable legacy.

The Creative Producer will assume responsibility for the integration of the theme across relevant functional areas. The successful candidate will be experienced in developing cultural programmes in line with a central theme for national/international events and will benefit from the support from WGC2022 team members/partners/agencies and Culture Liverpool colleagues.

Minerva Arts is looking for dynamic, passionate and flexible facilitators for their Cheshire East based Youth Theatres.

They run groups across Cheshire, Halton and Warrington and currently have openings for new team members to run our groups in Sandbach and Middlewich. They operate a Juniors (8-12) group in Sandbach and both Juniors and Seniors (13-18) in Middlewich. You may be available to run both Sandbach and Middlewich or just one of them.

This is a freelance role. The post-holder is expected to be registered self-employed and responsible for their own tax and National Insurance. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Educational Resource Project Manager – World Gymnastics Championships Liverpool 2022, closes 4 Oct

World Gymnastics Championships Liverpool 2022 (WGC2022) and Culture Liverpool are seeking a Project Manager to develop and deliver a crosscurricular, creative education online resource linked to the WGC2022 and the city of Liverpool.

The resource content needs to be innovative in its approach, using various methods, suggested activities and cross-curricular creative lesson ideas to engage children and young people in schools.

The resource needs to outline lesson ideas which are flexible in adaptation to meet the requirements of each Key Stage by teachers and be relevant to all age-groups, Key Stages and subjects.

The resource must link to content from Championships partners e.g. British Gymnastics, Liverpool City Council’s Children Services and Sports Development, Liverpool Learning Partnership and the cultural sector. The resource should also signpost to opportunities linked to the legacy programme.

 To deliver a creative education online resource for WGC2022.
 Work with partners to identify opportunities to signpost educational opportunities within the
overall programme to leave a lasting legacy.

 Develop and deliver an innovative, imaginative, and inclusive, cross-curricular educational
resource that reflects the diversity of the city.
 Work with Marketing and Communication team on the design and launch of the online

 To gather feedback and input from teachers via a series of twilight or other CPD sessions on
the relevance of the resource content.

They’re seeking a freelance potter to join the team at their new initiative, the revival of The Farmer’s Arms Inn in the Lake District. This is a key role based in our newly refurbished facility, working closely with Adam Sutherland (Director) and Tom Philipson (Workshop Manager): Creativity and making are the heart of The Farmer’s Arms project, and they are looking for someone who shares this vision and can help others join in.

The successful candidate will lead regular pottery classes and contribute to the making of diverse products for use in the pub and for sale in their shop and online. They also have an active group of drop-in amateur potters using the workshop casually, and the role will also include facilitating these sessions as required.

Liverpool Philharmonic is recruiting a Head of Production and Technical Services to lead all production and safety aspects of their live and digital concerts and events programme.

This role will ensure an outstanding experience for all artists, promoters, external hirers, partners and audiences, presenting over 400 concerts and events every year across music genres, comedy, film and education at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and the Music Room.

The role will drive improvements in concert presentation and production for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and oversee a newly established recording function for the Orchestra’s releases and content for streaming.

This is a full-time, permanent contract, with a working week of 35 hours. The salary for this post is £38,000 per annum.
