Senior Gallery Technician (Visual Arts) part time – HOME, closes 14 Apr ’25

To work closely with and supporting the Creative Producer Visual Arts in delivering the artistic aims of the organisation by planning and supervising all technical aspects of visual arts programme production and presentation for HOME.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Programme

  • Leading the technical and production aspects of the galleries’ programme and work closely with Creative Producer Visual Arts and members of the Artist Development and Creative Engagement teams to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of exhibitions.
  • Creation of gallery layout plans
  • Arranging appropriate transport, storage, condition checking of artworks and commissioning of signage and exhibition equipment.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets.
  • Procurement of equipment and services in connection with exhibition changeovers.
  • Maintain an asset register of, and ensure the maintenance of, gallery technical equipment and by other user groups onsite and offsite.
  • Liaising with the Theatre/Film Technical team on scheduling
  • Briefing all relevant HOME staff on changeover plans.

People Management

  • Managing the team of freelance technicians ensuring training is completed and providing ongoing support.
  • Ensuring all technicians are able to undertake the work they are assigned and that all relevant Health & Safety legislation requirements are followed.
  • Manage freelance contracts and ensure the correct finance and HR processes are adhered to.

Health and Safety

  • Responsibility for the Health and Safety of exhibitions. Ensuring standards of compliance are maintained throughout and accurate records are kept.
  • Ensuring all required documentation is in place including appropriate risk assessments.

Concerts Administrator – Halle Concerts Society, closes 24 Mar ’25

Reporting to the Concerts Manager, the Concerts Administrator is the key liaison for all visiting artists, including their Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor (Kahchun Wong).

The role is responsible for the immediate administrative tasks required by the Concerts department ensuring the successful delivery for all orchestral activity.

They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hall .

The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. However, this post will be required to work some evenings and weekends as requested by the Concerts Manager.

Fundraising Lead – Northern Roots, closes 6 Apr ’25

The role provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, strategic individual to play a catalytic role in shaping an exciting, innovative and transformational project.

Northern Roots is transforming 160 acres of urban greenspace in Oldham into a destination for learning, leisure and growing. The charity aims to benefit the environment, and to improve the health, wellbeing and livelihoods of local communities. They are currently constructing a Visitor Centre, Forestry Skills Centre and four acres of Urban Farm and will open as a visitor destination in 2026.

Over the last five years, the Northern Roots charity has successfully secured significant capital and revenue funding from a wide range of statutory, trust, foundation and corporate funders. Over the past year, they have conducted extensive pipeline research, developed a variety of Case for Support and proposal documents, begun to engage with High Net Worth and corporate supporters, and achieved success with a number of trusts and foundations new to them. As they prepare to open new facilities, they are now ready to recruit a member of staff to work with our CEO and Board to take forward the research, relationships and materials we have developed.

Young Producer (16-25) – Blaze Arts, closes 4 Apr ’25

The three Young Producers will work alongside the Festival Director and Festival Producer. The Festival team will report to the members of Burnley Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) at monthly meetings.

They are still in the process of shaping and planning the Festival so there may be some additional tasks which evolve during the process however, we expect the roles to involve the responsibilities listed in the Job Description.

Job Description

  • Assist in organising festival programming, including liaising with artists, partners, and volunteers
  • Contribute to the selection of artists to lead workshops and projects
  • Support community groups to manage production budgets
  • Support with logistics, including venue preparation, technical and access requirements, scheduling, and ensuring that events run smoothly
  • Support the Festival Producer to ensure all policies, insurance and permissions are in place for each event
  • Work with local communities and partners to ensure the festival’s inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring a diverse range of voices are represented
  • Contribute to and inform the festival’s marketing strategy by supporting social media campaigns, and assisting with outreach to schools and youth networks.
  • Assist in gathering feedback from attendees, artists, and participants to evaluate the festival’s success and impact, and contribute to evaluation reports

Evaluation & Impact Measurement:

Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans for all Odd Arts projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organisational goals.

Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across programmes, setting measurable targets and reporting structures. Support staff to collect accurate and relevant data, ensuring they are well-equipped, trained, and empowered to carry out evaluation processes.

Develop and maintain online monitoring systems and tools, including surveys, feedback forms, and other data collection methods. Ensure that Odd Arts is meeting best practice standards in evaluation, impact assessment, and data management.

Collate and analyse both qualitative and quantitative data, with an emphasis on quantitative data collection, trend analysis, and statistical reporting.

Curator of Contemporary Histories (Parental Leave Cover) – National Museums Liverpool, closes 23 Apr ’25

The Curator of Contemporary Histories plays a crucial role in the International Slavery Museum’s curatorial team. They will directly report to the Lead Curator of Transatlantic Slavery.

They will play an important role in coordinating collections management across the team and liaising across departments to ensure we are maintaining and developing high standards of collections management, particularly as part of the project decant.

The role is also of strategic significance in exploring the ways racial slavery continues to shape the world we live in, locally nationally and international – from racism, the climate crisis, economic inequalities, prison industrial system and broader contemporary exploitation. The postholder will further shape and 5 refine a strategic area of focus for their year in post, which will focus on one of these themes. Alongside, and connected to this, the postholder will work with designers, colleagues and partners to continue the collaborative development of display concepts as part of the Waterfront Transformation Project.
