The purpose of this role is to provide coordination of all volunteer activity across the organisation and to support the Head of People with the ongoing management and future development of the volunteer programme.

You will form part of the People Team, which also focuses on Human Resources and Payroll.

You will be proactive in ensuring they have a diverse volunteer programme that is embedded across Storyhouse and is provided as a vital service to communities.

The role will be responsible for meeting income targets, attracting and retaining clients, and upselling add on services.

Strong co-ordination and customer service skills are vital. This role involves co-ordinating and delivering event specifications for a wide range of conference and social events and managing a varied portfolio at any one time. The successful applicant will work closely with the museum’s Operations Team and wider network of suppliers to ensure all events exceed client expectations.

The role would be ideal for someone with experience in event sales, delivering events, or managing bookings in a comparable industry. Ability to follow processes and use a CRM system is essential.

LIPA are Hiring! Deputy Venue Manager – Front of House

As an Institute and a venue, they present a busy public performance schedule during both term time and holiday periods. They are looking to recruit a Deputy Venue Manager to support their Venue Manager across the full year and assume a duty management role on many of these events and performances. Key responsibilities include the box office and ticketing operations, graphic design of printed programmes and working on special events.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent and experience of working with the public, in a Front of House role. You will be willing to act as a Duty Manager when the public are on-site and work collaboratively with other teams on projects. The confidence in understanding and managing a 300+ seat venue is essential, and you will ideally have a good working knowledge of the theatre industry and the common processes and legislation that relate to it. You will be prepared to undertake First Aid and Fire Marshall training, and capable of taking responsibility for the safety of the public and coordinating any potential evacuations.

This is a permanent post to commence as soon as possible.

You will have extensive knowledge and experience of teaching singing for all musical theatre styles including contemporary commercial music. You will be familiar with singing pedagogical models with an extensive knowledge of the science and practice of voicework.

You will have experience of teaching singing to advanced level with an understanding of contemporary musical theatre practice, repertoire and the demands of a professional training programme. You will be able to work as part of a team, have experience of student assessment within degree programmes and understand the wider responsibilities and nature of the individual singing lecturer role within a professional training programme.

You will be available to work Monday afternoons during term time starting September 2024.

The Head of Stage will provide leadership on all day-to-day aspects of the stage infrastructure within the theatre relating to both the production and the building.

Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will ensure there is an efficient, cost effective and robust maintenance plan in place, meeting all operational and compliance needs from a stage maintenance perspective. You will oversee casual stage crew and dressers, and alongside the Head of Lighting and Sound oversee the senior technicians and communicate closely with visiting productions & show management to ensure a smooth get in, fit up and get out. This role will involve regular evening and weekend work.

To be successful in this role you should have, significant prior experience in a technical theatre setting with a focus on stage, rigging and flying systems.alongside experience managing and leading a team of people, with demonstrable people management skills. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including experience of LOLER & Working at Height and experience in leading on get ins, fit ups and get outs.

Theatre Technician – Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 13 Oct ’24

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Theatre Technician to join Shakespeare North Playhouse’s Production and Technical department, supporting a bold creative programme inspired by Prescot’s historic connections to William Shakespeare and a real love of storytelling.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the post-holder will be a key operational member of the Production and Technical team, taking responsibility for operating equipment in technical areas within the theatre, performance, and event spaces to ensure the smooth running of Shakespeare North’s productions, workshops, and events.
