Fundraising Officer – Arts Emergency, closes 29 May ’24

Arts Emergency, a mentoring organisation and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for an experienced and motivated Fundraising Officer.

This rewarding role involves focusing on communicating with and nurturing a large network of donors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fundraising environment and a good grasp of general fundraising principles and best practices in fundraising from a variety of audiences.

The salary is £30.5k pro rata. It is a part-time (21 hours per week), permanent role. The role can be home or office-based (London or Manchester), or hybrid.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
– A good grasp of general fundraising principles and best practice in fundraising from a variety of audiences (e.g. Individuals, Communities, Major Donors, Corporates)
– A good understanding of diversity and access issues within the cultural industries or state/higher education
– Experience of working in a fundraising environment
– Experience of donor stewardship and relationship fundraising
– Experience of prospect research and  event coordination
– Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office programs and CMS databases

SKILLS & ABILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Provide first-line support for all fundraising enquiries and ensure they are followed up appropriately and in a timely manner
– Ensure the fundraising database and Gift Aid declarations are up to date
– Support the Head of Fundraising in preparing income reports
– Send thank you emails and post packs to donors at all levels, and keep the website up to date with donor recognition
– Coordinate donor relationships and user experiences within Arts Emergency for regular and one-off donors and for community fundraisers
– Conduct detailed, ongoing research into new funding opportunities and prospective supporters
– Support the Finance team with income administration
– With the wider team, design a schedule of innovative donor events and coordinate preparation
– Contribute to donor communications on social media
– Undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the scope of this post

Children & Young People Programme Manager – Storyhouse, closes 2 Jun ’24

This is an exciting new role that manages, designs and develops Storyhouse’s creative programmes and projects for young people aged 5-25.

They are seeking to appoint a proactive and experienced manager with a proven record of developing and managing high quality programmes that inspire and engage children and young people with experience of managing staff and freelance artists to deliver this.

You will lead on the design, development and project management of Storyhouse Youth Theatre, working with 150 young people aged 5-17 every week as well as managing the Storyhouse Young Company (SYC) for 18-25 year olds, Young Programmers, Young Readers, BFI Film Academy, holiday activities and HAF club, our new Youth Board as well as other programmes for children and young people as and when they arise.

The postholder will be responsible for working alongside the Head of Engagement and other Engagement managers to develop the strategy for Storyhouse’s work with children and young people. You will have excellent project management skills, be confident managing budgets and have a good eye for detail and artistic and creative merit. You will have a strong understanding of what makes a quality cultural experience for children and young people and understand where the gaps are in our programme and how to ensure that the young people not currently engaging are given opportunities to attend Storyhouse sessions in their community or at Storyhouse itself.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • First line maintenance of projectors and AV equipment

  • Maintain and service all audio systems and associated components.
  • Maintain electrical and network cables, general AV and Multimedia equipment

Operations:

  • Daily start-up, and first-line maintenance of all audio-visual equipment
  • The onsite AV Technician will be required to monitor the operation of the equipment and communicate any issues to the Annerin Management team

The Digital Insights Officer will lead the creation and implementation of surveys, followed by analysis of the collected data. The role involves accurately compiling and processing data from various sources, including our CRM system Spektrix, Survey Monkey and digital platforms like Google Analytics, to generate weekly and monthly reports. These reports will vividly depict Shakespeare North’s audiences and their evolution over time for both internal and external stakeholders.

The Digital Insights Officer will also leverage gathered insights to effectively guide the allocation of external agencies’ time and resources toward enhancing Shakespeare North’s website and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) goals, ensuring optimal outcomes for the organisation.

We seek an individual who embodies curiosity, confidence, and engagement when presenting data to diverse audiences. Attention to detail is paramount in this role, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our insights.

The role sits within the Audiences Team but will work very closely with all other departments, specifically Visitor Experience, Fundraising, Engagement, Production and Finance; playing a crucial role in establishing a more insight-led and evidence-based approach to our activities.
